SUMMARY: The Software Engineer will build and maintain the internal systems, data pipelines, and tools that power our clinical, quality, pharmacy, and risk adjustment operations. Working closely with data analysts, clinical staff, and operational teams, this role turns complex healthcare workflows into reliable software.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Design, build, and maintain web applications, internal tools, and backend services supporting Medicare Advantage clinical and operational workflows
  • Develop and optimize RESTful APIs and data integrations across claims, pharmacy, enrollment, and risk adjustment systems
  • Build and maintain ETL pipelines and automated workflows for analytics, reporting, and CMS regulatory submissions
  • Write and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and database schemas in SQL Server environments
  • Collaborate with data analysts, clinical staff, and business teams to translate operational needs into working software
  • Build and integrate reporting interfaces and dashboards (Power BI, SSRS) to deliver insights to non-technical stakeholders
  • Document systems, APIs, and data flows; participate in code reviews and sprint planning
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate delivery - prototyping, debugging, documentation, and code review
  • Regular and consistent attendance
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, including regular and consistent attendance. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field - or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Proficiency in Python or JavaScript / TypeScript (strong in at least one; familiar with the other).
  • Experience writing and optimizing SQL queries in a relational database environment.
  • Version control with Git (branching, pull requests, code reviews).

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
  • Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) as part of daily workflow.
  • Experience working in a **healthcare, managed care, or Medicare Advantage** environment.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and healthcare data security practices.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment using project tracking tools such as Jira.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) and DevOps basics (CI/CD).
