Quality Assurance Analyst I – Healthcare Technology

Location: Tyler, TX

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Overview

A healthcare technology team is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst I to support the testing and release of application changes, enhancements, and updates across clinical, revenue cycle, and technical environments.

This role works closely with business stakeholders, project managers, application analysts, technical teams, and external vendors to develop and execute quality assurance processes, test plans, workflows, and documentation. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, an analytical approach to problem-solving, and experience working within healthcare or healthcare IT environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, document, and maintain quality assurance processes and test plans for healthcare applications and workflows.
  • Test application changes, updates, enhancements, and integrations to ensure quality, functionality, and interoperability.
  • Collaborate across clinical, revenue cycle, technical, and project teams to identify dependencies and potential issues.
  • Document workflows, processes, test results, and requirements clearly and accurately.
  • Modify and maintain test scripts based on application and workflow requirements.
  • Perform basic gap analysis and provide practical recommendations.
  • Research issues and evaluate multiple potential solutions based on facts and available data.
  • Provide clear status updates and communicate project risks, dependencies, and testing outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Serve as a point of contact for assigned QA processes and coordinate with external vendors when required.
  • Monitor vendor timelines and ensure agreed processes and requirements are followed.
  • Support integrated testing efforts across applications and teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve QA processes, testing methodologies, and overall application quality.
  • Maintain adherence to information systems standards, protocols, and established QA practices.
  • Review work carefully to ensure testing documentation and deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive, knowledge-sharing team environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field, or 4 years of related IT or operational experience within a healthcare environment.
  • 2+ years of experience in clinical or revenue cycle operations.
  • Experience with healthcare applications, information systems, or quality assurance processes.
  • Epic application proficiency or certification is preferred.
  • Understanding of software testing, QA processes, and application workflows.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to research issues, evaluate options, and make decisions based on evidence rather than assumptions.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills.
