Summary: 

Provides proactive leadership on assigned construction healthcare projects from the preconstruction and bidding phase, through planning and buyout, construction, close-out, and warranty. Accountable for client satisfaction, project quality, cost control, and schedule adherence, working as a team with Project Superintendents and Project Engineers.  Conforms to corporate policies and procedures, upholds ethical standards, and exemplifies corporate values, with an emphasis on integrity and service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead project development through the Preconstruction phase with the support of the Preconstruction Department.
  • Develop project management plan, including safety plan, quality plan, and site logistics plan with the support of Project Team.
  • Manage commitments to Subcontractors and Suppliers, ensuring internal compliance with procurement policies, and vendor compliance with contract terms.
  • Collaborate with Project Team and safety staff to ensure the safe execution of projects with an achievable goal of zero jobsite incidents.
  • Manage all financial aspects of Project, from job setup to monthly billings, forecasting, and final closeout, to ensure that Project meets profitability goals.
  • Oversee document management, including submittals, logs, correspondence, meeting minutes, drawings, and As-Builts with the support of Project Team.
  • Manage project timeline, working with Project Team to develop, update, and drive schedules.
  • Implement Quality Management System with the support of Project Team.
  • Ensure adequate communication among Project Team in monthly, weekly, or daily meetings. Ensure appropriate meeting documentation.
  • Maintain positive relationship with current and potential clients and designers.
  • Provide team leadership, both internally and externally.
  • Actively promote safe execution of projects, with an achievable goal of zero jobsite incidents.
  • Anticipate construction flow in order to provide proactive project planning.
  • Prepare and manage project budget proactively forecasting final project costs monthly, if not more frequently.
  • Prepare minor and miscellaneous pricing.
  • Prepare for and lead efficient team meetings, from the Preconstruction phase through final project completion.
  • Anticipate and recognize project risks, and develop management plans to mitigate risks to subcontractors, to Nabholz, and to our clients.
  • Proactively investigate and resolve disputes timely and fairly.
  • Accurately report on overall health of project monthly, if not more frequently.
  • Work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong organizational ability with daily management of multi-tasking.
  • This job is safety sensitive for medical marijuana purposes.
  • This position requires driving a personal vehicle on behalf of the company or a company vehicle; therefore, the applicant must successfully complete a motor vehicle records check, possess, and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, and immediately self-report convictions/violations/tickets to the DOT Compliance Specialist as per Company Policy. Any negative change in the status of the employee's driving record may result in the revocation of the employee's privilege to drive for the company.

Education/Skill Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Engineering, or similar program is preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage healthcare projects of $5M - $20M with minimal supervision.
  • 5-8 years minimum construction experience.
  • Career experience must include at least 5 years in commercial construction. Residential construction experience will not be considered.
  • Must understand commercial construction means, methods, and materials including standard practices and regulations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Must be willing and able to speak before groups of people in project interviews and other presentations.
  • OSHA 30-hour training.
  • Microsoft Office suite.
  • Sage Estimating.
  • Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate (accounting application).
  • Scheduling software(s) including P6 and/or Microsoft Project
  • Prolog Manager or similar experience
  • Overnight travel to project location or as corporate responsibilities require.

  • Travel overnight as projects or corporate responsibilities require.
  • Continuously sit, stand, or walk.
  • Bend, squat, climb stairs, or ladders.
  • Lift frequently 20 pound and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
