Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) - Covina, CA | $40/HR

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join an elementary school team in Covina, California for the 2026-2027 school year.

? Schedule: 30 Hours Per Week, 6 Hours Daily
?? Setting: Elementary School, General Education
? Interview Required

Position Summary:
The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant assists the Speech Language Pathologist in providing speech and language services to students. The SLPA will support clinical, educational, treatment, and documentation activities while working within the established plan of care and scope of practice.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Graduate of an SLPA program with an Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
• Completion of at least 100 hours of supervised fieldwork or equivalent clinical experience
• Current California SLPA license/certification
• One year of SLPA experience preferred
• Current health clearance and TB documentation as required
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age

The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant assists the Speech Language Pathologist in providing speech and language services.  The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant will have clinical, educational, documentation, and treatment related activities while working within the scope of responsibilities/ plan of care assigned by the Speech Language Pathologist and/or physician. 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Must be a graduate of a SLPA program with an associate’s degree, or have a bachelor’s degree in a speech-language pathology or communication disorders program 
  • Successful completion of a minimum of 100 hours of supervised field work experience or its clinical experience equivalent as required by state and/or contract
  • Current certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in the State of Practice 
  • Complies with all relevant  professional standards of  practice 
  • One (1) year of prior professional Speech-Language Pathology Assistant experience preferred
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice 
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
