On behalf of our healthcare client, Procom is searching for a Senior Healthcare Data Engineering Consultant for a 6 month plus remote contract role. Client is based in the Chicago, IL area .
Senior Healthcare Data Engineering Consultant - Job Description:
Our client is seeking a senior, hands-on Healthcare Data Engineering Consultant to design, build, and operationalize secure clinical-data de-identification workflows. This involves working with Epic-sourced healthcare data and collaborating closely with various stakeholders to deliver dependable, secure, and well-documented data pipelines.
Senior Healthcare Data Engineering Consultant - Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support end-to-end data pipelines in Microsoft Fabric using Python and SQL.
• Work with Epic-sourced clinical data, including structured records, flowsheets, and clinical notes.
• Implement approved de-identification controls such as identifier transformation, patient-consistent pseudonymization, and date shifting.
• Translate transformation requirements into reproducible, version-controlled workflows with effective exception handling.
• Develop validation checks for data completeness, referential integrity, and patient linkage.
• Build monitoring, error-handling, audit-logging, and operational-support processes.
• Profile source data, identify privacy and data-quality risks, and recommend remediation approaches.
• Produce architecture diagrams, implementation documentation, validation results, and production-support runbooks.
• Troubleshoot complex pipeline and data-quality issues.
• Communicate risks, dependencies, progress, and timelines clearly to stakeholders.
• Represent the data-engineering workstream in discussions with clinical, privacy, security, vendor, and business teams.
Senior Healthcare Data Engineering Consultant - Mandatory Skills:
• Three or more years of relevant experience in data engineering, healthcare-data integration, or analytics-platform development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Python, and SQL.
