Job description

The Healthcare Application Specialist will work with the Clinical Informatics team to improve clinical and financial applications related to the Cerner electronic health record (EHR) system. Works with various levels of management and staff to create specifications for systems and applications. Coordinates and leads projects as the project lead with management, users, IS staff and vendors. Provides support for software applications and solutions. Assists helpdesk with managing helpdesk activities, prioritizing incoming service requests from hospital employees, opens work orders to assign tasks, tracks and documents actions taken.
What You'll Do:
  • Serves as project coordinator for Informatics, patient accounting and financial systems projects. Duties include (but not limited to): application and system installation and implementation, formulate system scope and design objectives through analysis and research to configure vendor-maintained systems or develop and modify in house systems, assists with coordination efforts of users, IS staff and vendors.
  • Performs research and market analysis, prepares assigned project deliverables and detailed specifications from which vendor systems will be configured, and provides process and workflow analysis.
  • Conducts project analysis, planning and project management.
  • Coordinates product demos with the vendors and key stakeholders and makes recommendations to management as appropriate.
  • Performs daily operational activities associated with assigned systems, applications, or projects.
  • Supports the overall business/project plan by providing deliverables as a team member to meet project/team performance and outcomes relative to established project goals/measurements.

What You'll Need:

Job Information:
  • Full-time position, day shifts.
  • Starting wage $41.13 to $49.86 based on qualifications above requirements.
  • On-call may be required.
