Purpose of the Role
The Service Technician / Commissioning Agent is responsible for testing,ย inspecting, troubleshooting, and verifying the performance of building systems toย ensure they operate according to design specifications, project requirements, andย industry standards.


Key Responsibilitiesย 

  • Review construction documents, submittals, sequences of operation, andย equipment specifications.
  • Draft commissioning plans from contract documents for the Commissioning Group. Submit internal RFIs to document questions or concerns over Sequences of Operations.
  • Develop and manage a schedule of equipment Startup and Commissioning activities in collaboration with the Construction Project Manager to ensure activities impacting the Startup and Commissioning group personnel on any given project. Clearly identify dates when power and controls are required to meet OPS goals.
  • Ensure all equipment installed by Creature on assigned projects is started up and commissioned in accordance with project requirements and company objectives.
  • Execute functional performance testing to verify systems operate asย intended.
  • Perform regular job site walks with Project Managers and Mechanical Team to review installation quality and provide feedback to Foremen and Construction Project Managers.
  • Perform warranty calls as required.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company procedures, andย industry standards.
  • Communicate job status with the project management team on a daily basis and report any issues that may impede job progress or schedule.ย 
  • Assist the project management team with communicating technical detail to vendors or factory representatives as needed to repair manufacturers defects in equipment.ย 
  • Assist Test and Balance and manufacturers' representatives in resolving issues that impact the performance of the systems within our responsibility or scope of work. ย ย ย ย ย 
  • Organize, assemble, and issue Final Startup and Commissioning reports to all appropriate parties in a timely manner.ย 


Qualifications
Must-Have

  • Minimum 5 years mechanical HVAC equipment startup experience
  • Experience with HVAC, electrical, controls, mechanical systems, or buildingย automation systems.
  • EPA Certification
  • Valid driver's license; must be able/available to travel 50% or more of the time
  • Pre-employment drug screen and background check required


Preferred

  • Experience in the construction industry, preferably with a mechanical contractor, TAB contractor, or DDC controls contractor
  • Experience commissioning new construction and existing construction projects
  • Working knowledge of andย experience with DDC Controls and Test andย Balance process.
  • Experience in commercial, healthcare, industrial, or mission-criticalย facilities.
  • Experience with Daikin Equipment.

Commercial construction sites, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities,ย educational institutions, office buildings, and existing occupied facilities.
