Job description

The Senior Health Care Consultant will work closely with firm management to lead complex internal and external projects. This will involve hands-on work with client staff, providers, executives, vendors and other stakeholders to successfully implement innovative care models and improve health outcomes.    

Project scopes may focus on clinical redesign, financial modeling, network development, strategic planning, data analytics and/or organizational transformation. This position requires an in-depth working knowledge of the health care environment and market issues at the federal, state and local level.

Position Description:   

  • Work closely with additional members of the Consulting team, executives and staff to accomplish the goals, objectives and strategic plan for the company, continually seeking opportunities to add value and differentiate our services
  • Responsible for management of assigned workstream(s) for client and internal company projects. This includes mapping out resource needs, critical path, identifying risks and issues at project and critical success factors
  • Provide direction, expectations and requirements to team engaged in assigned workstream(s)
  • Manage the development of deliverables across projects or workstreams to ensure final products meet or exceed industry standards and organizational expectations
  • Build and manage relationships with key executives and staff at the client site to ensure the success of the engagement
  • Meet or exceed all contractual obligations, while maintaining high levels of client satisfaction
  • Leverage and convene work groups/meetings between clients, COPE Health Solutions’ staff and subject matter experts when necessary and appropriate
  • Accountable for proactive risk management across multiple projects through diligent management of scope of work, budget, project resources, and regular status updates with key stakeholders. Execute mitigation strategies as needed
  • Contribute thought leadership to engagements and organizational knowledge to continually improve work products and enhance value
  • Maintain deep understanding of our firm's service lines/offerings and seek out opportunities to understand and participate in firm's business development pipeline and sales cycle.
  • Build tools for service line or technical area of expertise
  • Support or manage internal organizational initiatives to improve or develop targeted processes, systems or resources as part of continuous quality improvement in response to strategic objectives, client and internal team member feedback
  • Support business development initiatives at the Senior Consultant level, including: co-authoring articles, drafting proposals, writing case studies, speaking at least once annually at a local event/webinar, and various networking activities
  • Achieve assigned revenue target for Senior Consultant level, through a combination of new and expanded business
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and ethical standards

Qualifications:   

  • 2-5 years of health care consulting experience preferred
  • Master’s degree in an applicable field strongly preferred (e.g.,MBA, MPH, MHA, MPA)
  • Prior experience in at least two of the following areas strongly preferred:
    • Network Development
    • Care Management
    • Clinical Redesign
    • Behavioral Health
  • Strong project management skills required
  • Strong customer drive and dedication to quality and success
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Open to traveling up to 50% (e.g., Monday – Thursday)
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple projects with a team in a fast-paced environment
