Location: Orange County, CA
Salary: $175,000-$225,000 annually + Performance Bonus

For more than 20 years, Salus Homecare has been a trusted leader in delivering exceptional in-home care throughout Southern California. As part of our continued growth, we are expanding our continuum of care by launching a new Behavioral Health Services division.
We are seeking an experienced executive to lead this exciting initiative. This is a unique opportunity to build a new service line within an established organization that has a strong reputation, existing referral relationships, and a commitment to delivering outstanding patient care.
Position Summary
The Vice President, Behavioral Health Strategy & Operations will lead the development, launch, and growth of Salus Homecare's Behavioral Health Services division. This executive will oversee strategic planning, operational execution, financial performance, compliance, program development, and business growth while building a high-performing leadership team.
The ideal candidate has successfully built and scaled behavioral health programs and has experience leading multi-site operations, managing P&Ls, and developing referral and payer relationships.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for the Behavioral Health division.
  • Design, launch, and grow behavioral health programs and services.
  • Lead operational planning, implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage departmental budgets, financial performance, and P&L.
  • Recruit, develop, and mentor clinical and operational leadership teams.
  • Build relationships with hospitals, physicians, health systems, managed care organizations, and community partners.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, county, accreditation, and payer requirements.
  • Drive quality outcomes, operational excellence, and sustainable growth.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic planning and expansion opportunities.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive leadership experience in behavioral health.
  • Demonstrated experience managing behavioral health operations across multiple locations.
  • Proven success leading operational growth and managing P&L performance.
  • Experience recruiting and leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong knowledge of behavioral health regulations, reimbursement, managed care contracting, and compliance.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Preferred
  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Experience launching or expanding behavioral health service lines.
  • Experience with outpatient mental health, community-based behavioral health, PHP, IOP, crisis services, or integrated behavioral health programs.
  • Established professional relationships within the Southern California behavioral health community.
