Reporting to the Assistant Director, Wellness, this dynamic leader will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, fostering a campus-wide culture of well-being. The Coordinator will design and deliver impactful programming, campus-wide events, and outreach initiatives, including workshops and wellness challenges, that directly support student success and resilience.

In this highly collaborative role, you will partner with stakeholders across campus to address evolving student needs. Your efforts will promote healthy, active lifestyles and holistic well-being, focusing on crucial areas such as emotional, social, financial, and digital wellness.

Specific responsibilities include:

Program Development & Campus Outreach

  • Facilitate and instruct educational sessions across campus, including in classrooms, residence halls, living-learning communities, and student organizations.
  • Create and launch campus-wide wellness challenges that focus on movement, financial literacy, and mitigating tech-induced burnout.
Student Supervision
  • Oversee all aspects of student supervision – including hiring, training, payroll approval, feedback, and performance evaluations for approximately 10 student wellness specialists (equivalent to 1 FTE).
  • Facilitate continuous training, mentoring, and professional development opportunities for the student staff.
  • Efficiently resolve internal conflicts and grievances within the designated area of responsibility.
Campus Collaboration
  • Consult with campus partners and departmental leadership to provide evidence-based strategies and recommendations on broad health and wellness topics.
  • Maintain high visibility and foster positive, collaborative working relationships across the university.
  • Serve on university committees, task forces, and assist with other departmental functions as assigned.
ThriveWell Operations
  • Manage all logistics for the ThriveWell program, including reservations, equipment maintenance, and staffing.
  • Direct the operations of mobile relaxation units designed for campus stress reduction, including managing a fee-for-service model for customized department requests.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly update standard operating procedures (SOPs), guidelines, and ongoing customer service training.
Strategy, Marketing, & Assessment
  • Assist in developing and executing a comprehensive marketing and communication plan to promote wellness programs, services, and special events.
  • Assess short- and long-term business objectives for the ThriveWell program to measure participant satisfaction, identify areas for improvement, and target new demographics.
  • Participate in overarching department goal-setting, data assessment, and strategic planning.
Other Responsibilities
  • Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs of the organization and evolving priorities.
Minimum Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, health education, health promotion or a related field within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of experience with wellness program planning and implementation (this may include a graduate assistantship).
Other Required Qualifications
  • Health and Wellness Knowledge : Demonstrated understanding of national trends and best practices in health promotion programming.
  • Proactive and Independent : Proven ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative, critical thinking, and creativity.
  • Collaborative Team Player : Proven ability to collaborate, build partnerships, and contribute effectively to a fast-paced, results-oriented team.
  • Excellent Communication Skills : Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to Wellness : Passion for promoting healthy and active lifestyles.
