Registered Nurse Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY: Provides quality care and treatment to adults diagnosed with mental illness, in an acute-care setting. Implements the nursing process in an organized, systematic manner to include assessment planning, intervention, and evaluation. Actively participates in treatment planning.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Current Mississippi RN License is required. Experience is not required.

SHIFT:

B Shift (3:00pm โ€“ 11:30pm) and C shift (11:00pm โ€“ 7:30am)

Nurse III

Seasoned Professional Registered Nurse accountable for serving as a member of the medical treatment team. Accountable for overseeing more complex or sensitive care, participating as a member of multidisciplinary team providing direct care in a patient care setting, or providing nursing and health services in a public health program. May be responsible for mentoring or directing the work of lower-level employees. May serve as a shift supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:

Requires state licensure as a Registered Nurse and 2+ years of experience as a Registered

Jobs in this family perform nursing services that affect patient care and are accountable for the health maintenance/restoration, health promotion, disease prevention, and the quality of care delivered.

  • The functions within this job family will vary by level, but may include the following:
  • Administer medications and other prescribed treatments.
  • Take vital signs.
  • Assist with care plan activities.
  • Observe and record patient conditions.
  • Review medical records/charts.
  • Plan, develop, evaluate, and/or monitor nursing and/or public health programs, services, and contracts.

Positions allocated to this series may perform the duties described, or specialize in areas of public health, infection control, quality assurance, employee health, billing compliance, facility surveying, or other specialties. The work assigned to positions in this series ranges from administering medications and taking vital signs to directing a total nursing program.
