Job description

Job Title: Parts Marking InspectorJob Description

This role focuses on accurately applying identification markings to manufactured parts and verifying that all markings meet customer specifications and quality standards. You will work closely with production and inspection teams to ensure parts are correctly labeled, traceable, and compliant, while maintaining equipment and documentation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Apply identification markings such as ink stamps, dot-peen marks, labels, laser marks, or etching to parts in accordance with manufacturing instructions, engineering drawings, and customer specifications.
  • Verify correct part numbers, revision levels, serial numbers, and lot traceability before performing any marking activity.
  • Inspect parts both before and after marking to ensure legibility, accuracy, and compliance with established quality standards.
  • Read and interpret shop travelers, route cards, bills of materials, and simple drawings to confirm correct marking requirements.
  • Ensure parts are packaged, packed, and handled appropriately after marking to prevent damage and maintain traceability.
  • Operate basic computer systems to enter, update, and retrieve data related to part markings and production activities.
  • Record required data in production logs, ERP systems, or paper documentation to maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Maintain marking equipment, inks, stamps, fixtures, and workstations in clean, organized, and proper working condition.
