Job Summary:
The Health Information Management Analyst is responsible for assembling and reviewing all inpatient, short stay surgery, rehab, and observation records for accuracy and completeness of documentation Reports to: Director Health Information Management FLSA: NonExempt

How you'll contribute: 
A HIM Analyst who excels at this role: 

  • Analyzes the medical record for chart completion deficiencies, in accordance with regulatory requirements and medical staff rules and regulations. 
  • Ensures any deficiencies are assigned to the appropriate medical staff member and data is entered for tracking and monitoring purposes. 
  • Reviews documentation and updates or clears the deficiencies as appropriate. 
  • Responsible for answering telephone calls and assisting visitors (including but not limited to physicians, patients, and their family members), while maintaining confidentiality. 
  • Completes birth and fetal death certificates. 
  • Provides state with necessary birth information within state required timeframe, as needed. 
  • Must perform HIM Tech duties as assigned
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for: 

  • Minimum Education High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Health Information Technology preferred
  •  Licenses: RHIT or RHIA eligible and Preferred
  • 6 months HIM/Medical Records experience - Preferred.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
