BD is seeking to add a Sr. Single Cell Multiomics Sales Specialist to its Biosciences Team that can offer customers a complete BD solution through successful positioning of the BD Rhapsody Single Cell Multiomics portfolio. The position will cover a territory that focuses on accounts within the South Central - US (field).

Territory: US South Central territory, residence in Texas or St. Louis area is preferred.

The Single Cell Multiomics Sales Specialist will be responsible for carrying out all sales activities for the BD Rhapsody Single Cell Multiomics (scM) platform in the territory. A successful candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to work both independently and within larger teams to drive extraordinary results for customers using the BD Rhapsody single cell system. The position requires significant direct interaction with existing and potential customers and carries an expectation of 40% travel. We are looking for applicants passionate about advancing single cell research who would like to join a diverse team of scientists that support and advise our scientific, training, and commercial efforts. The Sales Professional selected for this role will be responsible for the sales of BD Rhapsody single cell multiomics products by direct sales activities with the aim being to grow and develop the sales revenue in the assigned territory. Primary responsibilities include developing and crafting new business opportunities by promoting the entire BDB Instrument, Reagent, and Multiomics portfolios through a strategic partnership with the BDB Instrument and Reagent Specialists, the Custom Technology Team, Field Applications Specialists, Service Team, and Distribution Representatives.

The BDB Single Cell Multiomics Sales Specialist will actively seek to build new business, convert competitive business, and retain/develop our large key accounts in the assigned territory with the intent of growing revenue while balancing expected margins. This position will report directly to the US Business Director, Single Cell Multiomics.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meet with customers to position BD Rhapsody instrument and consumable products and BDB total solutions within the territory.

  • Ensure growth targets are met/exceeded for the territory through sales activities in line with business strategies, direct negotiation, bid/tender response completion, attendance at exhibitions, organization of on-site meetings/demonstrations and technical/application support.

  • Consistently demonstrate a strong understanding and execution of a proper sales process.

  • Develop and maintain adequate short/long term sales pipeline to consistently generate profitable revenue that meets/exceeds revenue targets.

  • Provide regular feedback to the business teams communicating the market opportunities and threats, and market intel.

  • Maintain accurate customer contact details, marketing attributes and opportunity management in the CRM database (Salesforce).

  • Provide routine reporting regarding territory performance and accurate sales forecasts.

  • Focus on collaborative selling through engagement of all BDB teams.

  • Develop and maintain one-on-one relationships with key distributor sales reps within assigned areas.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in relevant life science discipline, MS or PhD in life science an advantage.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience selling or supporting solutions for genomic applications such as single cell, gene expression, mutation analysis or other forms of genomic variation; and for techniques such as next generation sequencing, sample prep/ library prep for genomic analysis, PCR, qPCR and digital PCR.

  • Experience selling technologies for single cell sequencing, transcriptomics or proteogenomics highly desired. Title and compensation will be based on experience.

  • PC Literate, skilled user of the Microsoft suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Willingness to travel minimum 40% (domestic).

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge regarding current multiomics and genomic applications and techniques including single cell, gene expression, NGS, sample prep/ library prep for genomic analysis, PCR, qPCR and digital PCR.

  • Must be motivated to achieve individual and team sales targets.

  • Must be a teammate with the ability to coordinate necessary individuals from various functions such as Field Applications Support, Customer Service and Technical Support to achieve solution sales.

  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, verbal and written skills.

  • Strong presentation, organization, and analytical skills.

  • High level of negotiation skills.

  • Experience influencing and connecting multiple decision makers and collaborators with varying degrees of influence and personality types.

  • Ability to handle ambiguity and act when limited information is available.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued license driver's license with 3 years of consecutive driving history and meet BD's auto safety standards'.

Compensation

The expected Base Pay Range for this role is $120,300.00 - 192,400.00 USD Annual plus incentives. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and geographic location.
