What You Will Do:

Guidehouse is seeking an Epidemiology/Surveillance Lead to provide scientific leadership and strategic oversight for surveillance, epidemiology, analytics, and public health data modernization programs. This individual will lead multidisciplinary teams delivering high-impact public health data products, advanced analytic solutions, and surveillance capabilities that support population health decision making.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as the lead epidemiology and surveillance subject matter expert across complex public health analytics and data initiatives.

  • Lead surveillance strategy, epidemiologic methodology, data interpretation, and scientific quality assurance activities.

  • Oversee development of surveillance datasets, analytic products, dashboards, reports, and dissemination materials.

  • Guide advanced epidemiologic analyses, statistical modeling, trend analysis, population health measurement, and evaluation methodologies.

  • Lead quality assurance reviews of data, methods, findings, and deliverables to ensure scientific rigor and reproducibility.

  • Advise clients and stakeholders on surveillance strategy, emerging public health issues, data modernization approaches, and analytic best practices.

  • Direct multidisciplinary teams of epidemiologists, analysts, data scientists, statisticians, and informaticists.

  • Translate complex analytical findings into strategic recommendations for executive leadership and decision makers.

  • Support modernization of surveillance and analytic environments through automation, advanced analytics, cloud technologies, and AI-enabled capabilities.

  • Lead scientific dissemination activities including publications, conference presentations, technical reviews, and stakeholder briefings.

  • Support business development, solution development, and thought leadership initiatives within Guidehouse's Health AI/Data practice.

  • Role contingent upon contract award


What You Will Need:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. and must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DHS "PUBLIC TRUST

  • MPH, MS, DrPH, or PhD in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, Health Data Science, or related field.

  • TEN (10) or more years of professional experience in epidemiology, surveillance, public health analytics, research, or health data science.

  • Experience leading large-scale surveillance or epidemiology programs and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Experience in epidemiologic methods, public health surveillance, statistical analysis, and interpretation of complex health datasets.

  • Experience with SAS, R, Python, SQL, or equivalent analytical platforms.


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Doctoral degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, or related field.

  • Experience leading client-facing initiatives and providing executive-level recommendations.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and mentor technical staff.

  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.

  • Experience leading national, multistate, or enterprise surveillance initiatives.

  • Experience leading projects on HIV surveillance processes and data

  • Experience with advanced analytics, machine learning, AI, or predictive modeling applications.

  • Experience with cloud-native public health analytics environments including Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, or Palantir Foundry.

  • Experience with public health informatics, interoperability standards, or data modernization initiatives.

  • Experience supporting outbreak response, disease surveillance, or population health management programs.

  • Established record of scientific publication, conference presentations, and thought leadership.

  • Prior consulting experience leading complex federal or public-sector engagements.

The annual salary range for this position is $92,000.00-$153,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
