About UC Blue Ash
The Allied Health Department at UC Blue Ash invites applicants for our Annual Adjunct Instructor of Public Health & Exercise Science.
The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College is one of the largest regional colleges in Ohio and one of the most diverse colleges at the University of Cincinnati. The college is in Blue Ash, Ohio fifteen miles north of the uptown campus, on 135 acres in a park-like setting. We offer primarily associate degrees in career and transition programs, as well as general education courses and technical baccalaureate degrees to approximately 4800 students. We value excellent teaching and personalized student support to help students achieve their goals, whether the goal is to enter a career or to continue education. Job Overview
Public Health & Exercise Science Adjunct Faculty responsibilities include: teaching Associate degree courses in public health and exercise science such as personal health, nutrition and health, consumer health, physical activity across the lifespan, adult and aging health, mental health issues, stress reduction and intro to epidemiology.
Annual Adjuncts are contracted to teach on a yearly basis. This position will run from 8/15/2026 through 8/31/2027. The contract may be renewed based upon enrollment needs of the department. An annual adjunct must commit to teaching at least 18 credit hours for the academic year. The adjunct may opt to teach up to 21 credit hours if desired and additional compensation will be paid if this is the case.
Annual adjuncts are eligible for an insurance health plan. PPO and HSA plans are available. Four credit hours of tuition remission is also available for yourself each semester while teaching.
Adjunct faculty members will be expected to (1) use our course management system (Canvas) and any textbook-specific systems; (2) hold regular office hours to meet with students and reply to student communications in a timely manner; and (3) participate in at least one professional development workshop per year.
Classes may be offered day or evening, in-person or online. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Essential Functions
  • On a part-time basis, teach assigned undergraduate courses.
  • Using best practices, continually evaluate student coursework.
  • Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of their responsibilities.
  • Review and respond in a timely manner to all University-related and student communications.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Education
  • Master's degree in Public Health, Health Promotion and Education, Community Health, Health Sciences, Exercise Science/Kinesiology, or a closely related field.

Required Trainings/Certifications
  • CHES/MCHES Certification preferred

Required Experience
  • A minimum of one (1) year of successful classroom teaching experience in course content area.
