Department Specific Responsibilities
- Oversees and coordinates the planning, implementation, and evaluation of health promotion initiatives at Indiana University Bloomington under the direction of the Associate Director of Health Promotion.
- Contributes to the creation of healthy learning environments by developing and delivering educational programming, strategic campaigns, innovative workshops, and health-focused media.
- Advances population-level prevention strategies to improve quality of life and student success within the IUB student community.
- Designs, implements, and evaluates evidence-informed, theory-driven, trauma-informed, and responsive programs and services that advance campus-wide public health outcomes.
- Contributes to office outreach efforts and supports the recruitment, training, supervision, and professional development of peer health educators and student interns.
- Collaborates with campus partners to advance a coordinated, student-centered approach to health promotion.
- Exercises professional judgment in determining the content and delivery of health education programming across the scope of college health topics.
- Works closely with and advises the Associate Director of Health Promotion on emerging initiatives, programmatic priorities, and requests for new programming.
- Designs, implements, and evaluates comprehensive health promotion programs grounded in public health theory, behavior change models, and evidence-informed practices.
- Develops programming addressing foundational health topics that affect both individual behaviors and environmental determinants of health
- Creates educational programming for academic classrooms and campus partners (e.g. Student Involvement Leadership Center, Office for Sorority and Fraternity Life, Student Health Center), student organization, and special campus events.
- Uses epidemiological, institutional, and assessment data to identify priority populations and tailor targeted responsive programs and services to reduce disparities.
- Develops educational materials, campaigns, and digital content using health communication frameworks to promote protective behaviors and informed decision-making.
- Ensures health education is broadly accessible across campus, with attention to students with elevated risk or limited access to services.
- Integrates peer-reviewed research and national guidelines (e.g., CDC, ACHA, WHO) into program design and implementation.
- Advocates for and contribute to campus policies and environmental strategies that support student and community health.
- Develops partnerships internal and external campus partnerships to advance coordinated health promotion efforts.
- Facilitates engaging, evidence-based presentations and workshops for student groups, residence halls, classes, student organizations, and campus departments.
- Collaborates with student groups, academic partners, and administrative units to incorporate health promotion into campus life.
- Provides individual educational consultations to students seeking information on health and wellness topics.
- Strengthens referral pathways between health education, clinical services, counseling, and other student support resources.
- Trains, mentors, and supervises peer health educators and provide structured preceptorship to student interns.
- Assists with departmental outreach strategy and campus engagement initiatives.
- Consults with and advise the Associate Director of Health Promotion on emerging health trends, new initiatives, and programming priorities.
- Conducts needs assessments and environmental scans to identify emerging student health concerns and contributing environmental factors.
- Collects, analyzes, and interprets program data (e.g., pre/post assessments, participation metrics, qualitative feedback) using appropriate evaluation tools.
- Develops logic models, evaluation plans, and impact reports to demonstrate effectiveness and guide strategic decision-making.
- Assists the Associate Director in evaluating health promotion programs and disseminating findings related to student health behaviors and environmental determinants.
- Contributes to grant development and innovative initiative planning.
- Maintains accurate records of programming details, outreach metrics, and engagement using office tracking systems and program calendars.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Directs and administrates health promotion marketing and public health programs.
- Plans health and wellness programming while in collaboration with various department, campus, and university liaisons.
- Utilizes data to assess the needs of programming and assesses programming outcomes.
- Contributes to committees and staff training as a subject matter expert.

EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor's degree in mental health, social work, student affairs, health education, or related field.
- Master's degree in mental health, social work, student affairs, health education, or related field.

- 3 years in related field.
- 3 years of relevant professional experience in health promotion, public health, social work, or a related field.
- Experience in higher education or a campus-based setting is preferred

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. Advertised Salary
$54,000.00 on an annualized basis.
Work Hours
Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.
