This is a remote first position.

Posting Closes: August 31st, 2026 at 4:30pm

Internal Use Only: P1/A

At Servus Credit Union, we do things differently—because we’re a credit union, not a bank. And that difference matters.

We believe in putting people before profits, which is why our members are also our owners. Every dollar we earn is reinvested into the things that matter most: our members, our employees, and our communities. Whether it’s through profit sharing, competitive rates, or local initiatives that make a real impact, we’re here to help Albertans feel good about their money.

We’re looking for passionate, values-driven people to join our team. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds who are aligned with our values and are eager to contribute in meaningful ways. If you're excited to grow your career with a team that’s innovative, hardworking, collaborative and deeply rooted in community, we want to meet you.

Join Servus and discover a better way to work.

Reporting to the Director Reputation and Member Engagement and supporting the Head of Communications and a team of communicators, this role is a key contributor to a variety of projects and initiatives from across the Communications Division, including internal, external and member communications. With a heavy focus on tactical output, this position plays an integral role in bringing the Servus story and brand to life across all of Servus’s communications channels.

In addition to supporting project work, the role also provides coordination, administrative, and logistical support for initiatives within the Department, including for team meetings and project tracking in Asana.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide support for communications programs and projects across the Department. This includes developing and implementing a range of internal and external communications tactics.
  • Write content for a variety of communications channels, encompassing a range of formats including print, digital and video.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to team initiatives.
  • Support the Head of Communications and the Communications Leadership Team as required.
  • Provide backup support for publishing across all channels.
  • Assist with initiatives designed to drive social media amplification amongst staff and members.
  • Work with colleagues to support and identify reputational threats across Servus's social media platforms.
  • Support the team to manage proactive and reactive media relations activities including delivering timely media responses, supporting earned media opportunities, and supporting the coordination of paid media opportunities
  • Collaborate with and provide communications support to a team of Strategic Communications Partners and Communications Leads on key portfolios and strategic initiatives across Servus.
  • Provide logistical support for Department initiatives, including townhalls and internal/external events, including coordination and booking of events.
  • Support monitoring and reporting across the Division through compiling analytics and updating reports.
  • Other duties as required

What you bring:

Experience:

  • Degree or diploma in communications, public relations or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of communications experience.
  • Strong writing skills are preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Certification: IABC or CPRS membership is considered an asset.

Any other special requirements necessary to do the job:

  • Remote first
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet business needs, support special projects or contribute to crisis or issues management. Travel within Alberta, and occasional in-office attendance in Edmonton or Calgary, may be required.

Most importantly, we're looking for candidates whose personal values align with our cooperative values. These values are evident in everything we do everyday. We're not afraid to be different from our competitors and in fact we embrace these differences. We celebrate our credit union culture and history, and we pride ourselves on our strong commitment to our member-owners and to the communities we serve.

Why Servus?

Working for Servus has outstanding benefits. In addition to standard benefits like health and wellness, vacation and retirement savings programs, we also provide other important benefits such as:

  • Competitive compensation including performance-based incentive pay and profit share
  • Training & Development Opportunities
  • Career Advancement Potential
  • Flexible work options
  • Meaningful work towards individual and corporate goals
  • Opportunities to get involved and give back through an employee volunteer program

At Servus, our employees are also members. This means you'll have all the benefits of being a member of the credit union including profit sharing, voting for the board of directors, and all of the financial services we provide…with a few additional perks!
