Bloomington Kennedy High School 
Season Dates
August  2026 October/November 2026







Practices
M-F after school; some Saturdays
Job Summary & Qualifications:



Core Coaching Qualifications

  • Soccer coaching experience Prior experience coaching high school, club, or collegiate soccer with a record of player development and program building.
  • Technical and tactical knowledge Deep understanding of modern systems of play, positional roles, training periodization, and match analysis.
  • Player development philosophy Clear approach to growing athletes across technical, tactical, physical, and mental dimensions.
  • Practice planning skills Ability to design progressive, engaging, and age-appropriate training sessions aligned to season goals.

Educational & Certification Requirements

  • MN coaching certification Completion of Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) coaching requirements.
  • CPR/First Aid training Current certification for emergency response.
  • NFHS coursework Concussion training, sportsmanship modules, and sport-specific coursework.
  • Background check clearance Required for all school-based positions.

  • Program leadership Ability to build a unified program across varsity, JV, and lower levels.
  • Communication skills Clear, consistent communication with players, families, staff, and administration.

Compensation
Seasonal stipend varies on role, please see Schedule C of the BPS Teacher Contract for rates.
