Job Overview

Monex Canada is seeking a Head of Sales to lead and expand its commercial FX and payments sales function nationwide.

This player-coach role will build and manage a high-performing team, own revenue delivery, and stay directly involved in winning and growing strategic client relationships.

Working closely with the CEO, the Head of Sales will shape go-to-market strategy, broaden Monex's reach with corporate and institutional clients, and strengthen the firm's position as a leading FX and payments partner in Canada.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • 8+ years of experience in commercial FX, corporate treasury, institutional sales, or financial services sales, with a demonstrated record of revenue growth.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience leading, coaching, and managing sales professionals in a performance-driven environment.
  • Strong knowledge of FX products, including spot, forwards, options, hedging strategies, and international payments.
  • Proven ability to build and execute sales strategies across corporate, institutional, SME, and financial services client segments.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex client relationships, strategic accounts, and senior-level stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to manage pipeline performance, conversion metrics, revenue forecasts, and sales reporting.
  • Experience recruiting, developing, and retaining high-performing sales talent.
  • Familiarity with Canadian financial services regulation, including FINTRAC, AML/ATF requirements, and MSB obligations, is preferred.
  • Established network among Canadian corporates, treasury professionals, financial institutions, or referral partners is considered a strong asset.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and French is an asset, particularly in support of Quebec market expansion.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Toronto, with availability to work in a hybrid environment and travel as required for client and market development.

1.Strategic Business Development

  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to expand Monex Canada's market presence in the Forexindustry.

  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets to drive revenuegrowth.

2.Team Development

  • Identify and groom future leaders within the organization, fostering a culture of talentdevelopment.

  • Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for theteam.

3.Sales Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and manage theSales Executives, Director of Strategic Sales andBusiness Development Associate (BDA) team, providing guidance and support to achieve salestargets.

  • Implement sales strategies and best practices to maximize teamperformance.

5.Revenue Growth

  • Set and monitor revenue targets, working collaboratively with the executive leadership team to achieve growthobjectives.

  • Implement pricing and sales strategies to optimizerevenue.

6.Reporting and Analytics

  • Regularly report on business development activities, performance metrics, and progress towards goals to the CEO and executive leadership

  • Use data-driven insights to refine strategies andtactics.

Compliance, Risk& Regulatory

  • Workingeffectively and collaborativelywithFinancial Crime and RegulatoryComplianceteamsto complete the Client onboarding process in line with Companyand regulatoryrequirements;

  • Ensuring adequate knowledge of their client (KYC) toenable the firm todeliver appropriate and suitable productsandservices;

  • Liaise with Risk and Traders regardingmarginfacilities;

  • Engaging with theclient with integrity, ensuring high service standards and in accordance with Monex policies;

  • Understand andadhere toMonex'scomplaints procedureand escalatingwhere necessary;

  • Identify andappropriatelymanageconflicts of interestin accordance with regulatory and company requirements;

  • Ensure that the role as first-line defence is undertaken with diligence;

  • Ensure adherence with the FCA's 11 principles of business.

Business Knowledge / Technical Skills:

  • Financial Modelling & Forecasting- Expertise in budgeting, cash flow analysis, and financial scenario modelling.
  • Revenue Optimization- Understanding of pricing strategies, revenue recognition, and operational efficiency.
  • Data Analytics & Business Intelligence- Proficiency in BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, or R).
  • ERP & Financial Systems- Experience with enterprise financial platforms (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Adaptive Insights).
  • Regulatory Compliance- Knowledge of financial regulations, risk management, and internal controls.

Leadership / Management Skills:
