Turner & Townsend seeks a Director of Risk Management to join our team to lead risk management services for key client accounts and support the growth of risk management services for our business. Â
Responsibilities:Â
Maintain visibility of threat/opportunity trigger points to facilitate risk cost profiling, timely drawdown of risk budget or retirement of threat/opportunity.Â
Use risk data to inform investment planning. Â
Monitor overall risk exposure and assess against the remaining risk budget.Â
Work with contractors to assess contractor held risks and their views on client held risks that impact upon them. Â
Produce risk reports as required, in a timely manner, to support the effective communication of threat & opportunity status. Â
Conduct quantitative risk assessment (cost and schedule) to inform project contingency levels.Â
Ensure thedelivery ofbest practice risk management activities and report to the Head of Department.Â
Initiate a proactive approach to the review, development and improvement of the risk management service to the client.Â
Undertake end-to-end project risk management practice on multiple projects/programs.Â
Undertake the creation of risk management plans and processes in adherence to client requirements, processes, policies and frameworks.Â
Lead workshops with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. Â
Conduct risk reviews at regular intervals, identify and analyze, determine response plans, ensure that project and program risk profiles are being monitored and reported.Â
Lead and run a comprehensive schedule and cost qualitative risk assessment (QCRA & QSRA) process is delivered.Â
Establishintegration of the risk management function within the program and project controls team, with direct touch points to cost and schedule management, change control, and reporting.Â
Work proactively and collaboratively with program and project control teams so as to eliminate redundancies and identify opportunities for improvement.Â
Provide opportunities to facilitate the transfer of knowledge within the immediate risk team, to the greater project controls team and to the client.Â
The transfer of knowledge may include informal one-one-one discussions with client stakeholders and more formal presentations to clients and colleagues.Â
Create value stream mapping to quantify pain points and develop solutionsto minimize waste (both in terms of speed and cost).Â
Create improved operating procedures and best practices for wider use in the client organization to reduce turnaround times, amendments and queries.Â
Aligns recommendations to the respective needs of each project, delivery type, contract models and phase of contract negotiation.Â
Collaborate on the supplier performance management program including the collection of performance metrics and tracking of supplier improvement action plans.Â
Demonstrate a level of support to expert witnesses in arbitral or ligation processes.Â
Lead, manage, and carryout construction stage contract and claims management.Â
Provide strategic, critical and professional advice on contractual issues.Â
Carry out assessment of contractual claims in accordance with the contract.Â
Provide strategic and contractual advice on disputes and related resolution issues.Â
Evaluate delay recovery measures.Â
Carry out change management and construction stage cost control.Â
Supervise the measurement and valuation of completed works and variations.Â
Manage the settlement of final accounts with contractors.Â
Perform all other pertinent contract management and administration tasks with a view to achieving project completion on time and within budget.Â
Prepare and support bid proposals and work closely alongside Senior Management and the wider Turner & Townsend team.Â
SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.Â
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction.Â
Graduate degree in quantity surveying, cost management, construction management, or engineering is preferred.Â
12+ years of relevant risk management or risk program controls experience.Â
2+ years managing high performing risk management services and teams in a consulting environment.Â
Deep knowledge and experience with risk identification facilitation and techniques.Â
Strong communication, analytical and negotiation skills.Â
Has conducted risk management training sessions.Â
In-depth understanding of construction contracts, commercials models and delivery methods.Â
Proficient in process mapping, root causes analysis, problem solving, and value-stream mapping.Â
Familiarity with web-based database tools - ARM, Predict, Tableau. Â
Highly self-motivated, analytical, and customer centric.Â
Excellent interpersonal skills, including great communication.Â
Ability to demonstrate collaborative behaviors.Â
Organized and thorough individuals.Â
Experience in the formulation, setting up, procurement and contract administration of target cost contracts will be an added advantage.Â

The minimum salary for the Director position is $150,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Director position is $195,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.Â
