Introduction

We are looking for a Head of Circular Business to join our Consumables Business Development team. In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of commercial circular economy solutions that create value for our customers and Metso. By designing and scaling innovative recycling and material recovery business models, you will help reduce waste, lower CO₂ emissions, and contribute to our sustainability ambitions while driving business growth.

This role is preferred to be based in North or South America, with flexible working arrangements available, however we are open to considering global candidates within a commutable distance of a Metso location.

This role includes regional and international travel to support customers, partners, market areas, and business initiatives globally.

Team you will belong to

You will join a global team of business development and sustainability-focused professionals dedicated to advancing circular business opportunities across Metso's Consumables business. The team plays a key role in supporting Metso's strategy by transforming sustainability objectives into practical, customer-facing solutions that generate business value and environmental benefits.

We collaborate closely with customers, market area teams, account managers, supply chain partners, foundries, recycling providers, and senior business leaders across the globe. Our team is primarily based across Europe and the Americas, and our ways of working emphasize open communication, collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and turning ideas into action.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a highly collaborative global environment, influencing stakeholders, and building innovative commercial solutions that have a measurable impact.

What you'll do

  • Lead the development and execution of circular business models across regions and business segments.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to recover, recycle, and reuse materials within customer operations and Metso's value chain.
  • Collaborate with customers, market areas, and internal stakeholders to develop commercially viable circular economy solutions.
  • Develop strategic roadmaps, business cases, and implementation plans for circular business initiatives.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with recycling organizations, logistics providers, and other external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with supply chain and operational teams to establish the infrastructure and processes required to scale circular business offerings.
  • Train, coach, and support market area teams in promoting and executing circular business programs.
  • Develop metrics, reporting capabilities, and performance indicators to measure business and sustainability outcomes.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, sustainability, supply chain management, or another relevant field.
  • Experience in business development, commercial leadership, strategic partnerships, sustainability, circular economy, recycling, or a related field.
  • Strong ability to collaborate and influence diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience developing business cases, commercial models, or customer value propositions.
  • Proven customer-facing experience and the ability to build trusted relationships.
  • Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Self-motivated mindset with a passion for innovation, sustainability, and driving change.
  • Experience with circular economy initiatives, recycling operations, or sustainability programs (nice to have).
  • Knowledge of international regulations, logistics, customs requirements, or material recovery processes (nice to have).
  • Additional language skills beyond English (nice to have).

What's in it for you

At Metso, you will combine meaningful work with opportunities to learn, grow, and make an impact in a supportive and inclusive environment. You'll be part of a global team where collaboration, wellbeing, and continuous learning are part of everyday work.
