Head of People Operations & Talent

OpenFX

Miami, FL โ€ข On-site

Full-time

Re-posted 9 days ago

Job description

About Us
OpenFX is on a mission to move money as freely as data, unrestricted by time zones, banking hours, or legacy systems. We are building the infrastructure that will power the next generation of cross-border payment systems for institutions. The team's execution has been exceptional, and we're scaling at a remarkable pace. Our stellar early team comes with experience in companies like J.P. Morgan, Goldman Sachs, FalconX, PayPal, Affirm, Polygon, Kraken, Nium & others. We're backed by Accel, Lightspeed, NfX and other top-tier investors.
Role Overview
We're hiring a Head of People Operations & Talent to build and scale the entire people function at OpenFX. This is a builder role, not a maintenance role. Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will own both talent acquisition and people operations across all of our geographies and will design, stand up and operationalize the core people infrastructure as we scale.
That means recruiting infrastructure, onboarding, offboarding, employment compliance, benefits administration, performance frameworks and employee relations, working across India, the US, EU, UK and UAE from day one. You will work closely with every functional leader and build out the team beneath you over time.
We are being direct about scope because ambiguity here serves no one. This is a broad role covering both recruiting and people ops. If you are excited about building a global people function at a company scaling from roughly 160 people today toward more than 200 by the end of 2026 and 500 within two to three years through regulated markets, keep reading.
Key Responsibilities
  • Build the hiring engine and hold the A-player bar
    • Stand up recruiting infrastructure, structured interviewing and scorecards, and build internal sourcing to reduce agency dependence.
    • Fill priority roles while maintaining the A-player bar and low regrettable attrition.
  • Stand up global people operations
    • Deploy core HR systems (Rippling), policies and processes that work across India, the US, EU, UK and UAE from day one.
    • Own onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration and employment compliance in each jurisdiction.
  • Operationalize performance and employee relations
    • Launch performance management aligned to the ownership culture.
    • Build and run the employee relations function with sound judgment and discretion.
  • Own workforce planning and org design
    • Partner with leadership on the workforce plan and present a point of view on the people function at 200 and the path to 500.
    • Partner with executives on org design and span of control.
  • Build and lead the people and talent team
    • Hire and develop the people and talent team so work can be delegated.
    • Raise managers' people-leadership capability across the company.

What We're Looking For
Must-haves
  • Experience building people infrastructure at a scaling company, ideally one that grew from roughly 50 to 100 people to more than 200 across multiple countries. You know what breaks during that transition and how to get ahead of it.
  • Comfort with global complexity. Every process, policy and system you build needs to work across India, the US, EU, UK and UAE from day one.
  • Both TA and people-ops capability. You need to be credible in both domains and able to operate across both until you have team members to delegate to.
  • Ability to operate with high autonomy in an ambiguous environment. We will give you a charter, a budget and access to every leader in the company. We will not give you a playbook.
  • Strong written communication. We are a globally distributed company and decisions travel through writing.

What helps you stand out
  • A specific location is not required. We are open to Miami, London, Dubai or Bangalore. What matters is operating effectively across time zones and traveling when it matters.
  • A specific industry background is not required. Fintech experience is a plus but not a requirement; what matters is that you have built people infrastructure at a company with real operational complexity.
  • A prior Head of or VP title is not required. We care about what you have built, not the title you held.

What We Offer
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Equity in a rapidly growing company.
  • Opportunity to work in a fast-paced startup at the forefront of fintech innovation.
  • Opportunity to make a significant impact on global financial infrastructure.
  • Collaborative work culture with emphasis on personal and professional growth.

We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
