Job description

MyOme builds methods and develops products to help families better understand their risks for inherited diseases. We aim to build the platform that enables customers to receive a lifetime of on-demand health insights from a single sample including cardiac, diabetes, and cancer risk, and response to certain medications, and to allow them to use and share these data however they choose.

Description

MyOme is looking for a world-class machine learning scientist to join us on our mission to help people maximize the value of their genomic information. You will report to the head of research and development utilizing a world-class computational R&D environment to build cutting edge models predicting disease risk from whole genome sequence data. 

Key Responsibilities
  • You will lead efforts to build machine learning models that predict disease from whole genome sequence data

  • Work with our excellent engineering team in deploying ML models that help patients get the most from their genetic data 

  • Contribute to a supportive atmosphere of collective learning and development.

  • As a well-rounded generalist, be interested in our mission and committed to its success.

Skills and Experience
  • A PhD is strongly encouraged, but If you have exceptional applied experience and  can do the work well and humbly, we want to talk 

  • Expertise in the theory and practice of building deep neural networks, preferably on large genetic datasets

  • Experience with PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow or equivalent machine learning framework.

  • Ability to communicate complex concepts to people outside of your field

  • Ability to thrive in a nimble start-up environment with changing priorities.

  • Background in statistical genetics a plus
