POSITION SUMMARY

A Substitute Guide at Blue Ridge Montessori School is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment for all students. This individual will work together with Lead Guides and Assistant Guides and in conjunction with the entire faculty and staff.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions

  • Follow lesson plans provided by the absent Lead Guide to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for all students.
  • Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions, and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the playground, and in the cafeteria.
  • Follow classroom and school procedures as directed by the Executive Director and Head of Operations.
  • Communicate in a friendly and positive manner towards parents, students, and administrators.
  • Keep records on attendance, accidents, and incidents.
  • Ensure the utmost student safety at all times.



SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required.

Experience: Some childcare experience, preferred.

Certifications & Licenses: CPR Certification, preferred.
