We are partnering with a profitable, global company in their search for their Head of Accounting. The Head of Accounting reports directly to the CFO and has responsibility for A-Z accounting functions.

Head of Accounting Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage the general ledger and monthly/quarterly/annual close process
  • Preparation of consolidated financial statements including Fx
  • Coordination of the annual audit and tax filings
  • M&A accounting due diligence and integration of acquisitions into the core company
  • Manage and mentor a team of professionals in Houston and beyond
  • Key team member for system implementations and upgrades
  • Identify and implement Best Practices and process improvements
  • Other ad hoc projects and responsibilities as they arise


Head of Accounting Required Credentials and Experience:

  • CPA is required
  • Master of Accounting/MBA or other advanced degree is desirable, but not required
  • 8-10+ years of accounting experience with a mid-sized to large global company
  • Public accounting experience is highly desirable
  • Experience with the core responsibilities listed above: Monthly close, oversight of audit & tax filings, M&A activity, preparation of consolidated financial statements, minimum 2 years of management experience with a medium-to-large team, other experience.
  • Intangibles: Highly analytical, detailed oriented, diligent, curious, personable with sense of urgency and high level of integrity
