Job description

Head Detailer– Full Time 

We're hiring at Genesis of Schererville, a brand-new luxury dealership serving Northwest Indiana and the Chicago area. 

The ideal candidate is a mature, detail-oriented professional with a strong sense of responsibility, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a clean and orderly stock of cars.

Responsibilities 

  • Wash exterior surfaces
  • Apply wax to auto body
  • Clean upholstery, rugs, and other interior surfaces
  • Vacuum vehicle interiors
  • Conduct final inspections to ensure each vehicle meets company and customer quality standards
  • Maintain an organized tracking log for vehicle keys and license plates
  • Manage the vehicle detail pick-up and return process for scheduled appointments
  • Ensure the detail log is updated and accurate by the end of each business day
  • Assist with transporting vehicles between facility locations as needed
  • Monitor inventory levels, maintain MSDS records, and reorder chemicals and supplies as required
  • Provide high-quality customer service by addressing detail needs, responding promptly to calls and emails, and ensuring timely communication

Qualifications 

  • Must have a clean driving record and hold a valid driver’s license 
  • Must be willing and able to submit to a Background Check and Drug Screen 
  • Previous experience with detailing vehicles
  • Mature, disciplined personality 
  • Effective communication, organizational and time management skills 
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Friendly, approachable, and maintains a positive outlook 
  • Open to feedback and motivated to develop skills
