JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Service Representative (Class A License Required)

Reports to: Delivery Manager

Schedule: Tuesday-Friday 5:00 A.M - 3:30 P.M or Until Finished

Starting Pay: $48,000 - $50,000 annually

Job Summary

The Service Representative is responsible for delivering products to retail accounts safely and efficiently, ensuring exceptional customer service, market compliance, and merchandising standards. This position also supports promotional execution and acts as a key liaison between the company and retail customers. The Service Representative is expected to operate company vehicles professionally and comply with all applicable safety and DOT regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Delivery and Servicing
  • Deliver assigned product routes efficiently, accurately, and safely.
  • Perform check in process with customer and rotate product (FIFO) at designated point of sale location.
  • Load all products into assigned location ensuring product labels are faced and visible to consumers at point of sale.
  • Handle product returns and manage inventory within accounts.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, respond to customer requests, and escalate issues to the supervisor when needed.
  • Monitor backroom inventory and ensure stock is kept clean, neat, and organized.
  • Support “on-call” deliveries, pull-ups, and special events as scheduled.
  • Inform office staff of any changes in assigned account details.
  1. Merchandising and Promotion
  • Execute all authorized promotional activities and display standards in accounts.
  • Apply themed point-of-sale (POS) materials based on marketing plans.
  • Assist in building and maintaining primary and secondary product displays.
  • Maintain accurate, organized records of POS tools on the delivery vehicle.
  • Monitor product performance and report slow-moving inventory for redistribution.
  • Ensure Mitchell Distributing dominates shelf and display space using all available POS materials.
  1. Sales and Account Development
  • Partner with pre-sales personnel to prevent out-of-stocks and improve order accuracy.
  • Identify new sales opportunities within assigned accounts and report findings to your pre-sales representative.
  • Build and maintain goodwill with all assigned accounts by representing Mitchell Distributing in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate Route Assistants to ensure quality service.
  1. Safety and Compliance
  • Maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and inform your supervisor of any violations or changes.
  • Maintain a current DOT physical card.
  • Complete daily pre- and post-trip inspections and document findings per DOT and company guidelines.
  • Drive assigned vehicle safely and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Maintain a clean delivery vehicle (interior and exterior) and a clean working area daily.
  • Follow all company safety practices and Anheuser-Busch procedures.
  • Report any accidents or equipment damage immediately using company documentation.
  • Safeguard all company property, equipment, and funds—responsibility for lost or damaged assets may result in reimbursement requirements.
  1. Administrative and Operational Responsibilities
  • Make accurate daily bank deposits for route collections.
  • Complete all delivery paperwork, route logs, and impact documentation accurately and on time.
  • Communicate competitive activity, route issues, or service opportunities to management.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those in the Employee Handbook.
  • Represent Mitchell Distributing and Anheuser-Busch positively at all times.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Class A CDL and clean driving record
  • Ability to supervise and train Route Assistants
  • Basic communication and customer service skills
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Basic understanding of sales and merchandising principles
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs routinely
  • Ability to push and pull carts weighing over 100 lbs
  • Ability to stoop, bend, reach overhead, and walk throughout the day
  • Frequent entry and exit from commercial trucks
  • Must be able to meet physical demands required for safe and efficient delivery operations

  • Exposure to outdoor elements during loading/unloading
  • Fast-paced delivery environment requiring attention to timing and accuracy
  • Frequent customer interaction and team collaboration
