Job Description

Reporting to the Head Chef, the Dishwasher is responsible for keeping a clean and sanitary stock of dishes, utensils, glasses, pots/pans, and cooking equipment.

The day to day:

  • Ensure a clean and sanitary stock of dishes, utensils, glasses, pots/pans, and cooking equipment is consistently available for kitchen and food service.
  • Sort, stack, and load dirty dishware into dish racks in an organized manner to maximize machine capacity and reduce breakage.
  • Operate dishwashing equipment in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Unload dishware, distributing and storing in designated storage areas.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with all departments affecting the kitchen.
  • Aid kitchen staff in food prep when directed.
  • Ensure the highest level of hygiene and food safety is adhered to according to the restaurant’s standards.
  • Ensure that the dishwashing area and equipment is always maintained at the highest level of cleanliness.
  • Consistently conduct yourself in a professional and positive manner.
  • Aid in maintaining or exceeding department objectives.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • No previous experience required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills required.
  • Working-level English communication skills with ability to establish and develop relationships with management and other team members.
  • WHMIS Certification and Food Safe Certification is an asset.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, control, and composure in difficult and stressful situations.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (full shift duration) and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Partial time / Full time availability
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
