OUR DEPARTMENT: The Facilities Management Department in Clear Creek School District is composed of hard-working, collaborative employees who are dedicated to keeping our schools warm, safe, and welcoming. They take pride in their work and wear multiple hats to address various facility issues as they arise.
YOU: We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Custodian to join our Facilities Management Team.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT: The successful candidate will be required to complete fingerprinting through an approved fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.
POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for oversight of other custodians assigned to the building, including job performance, yearly evaluations, attendance/leave requests and payroll management. The Head Custodian works in conjunction with the building Administrators and Director of Facilities Management to set up for special events and for use by outside agencies or groups. The Head Custodian develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele. This position also has responsibilities of cleaning of the facility, including trash removal, floor cleaning, general dusting, cleaning, grounds upkeep and snow removal as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Cleans assigned areas of the facility, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, common areas and grounds.
Vacuums and cleans floors.
Removes trash.
Assists with snow removal from walkways and other areas.
Sets up for groups and special events, or activities by staff or outside usage.
Performs general maintenance tasks related to the upkeep and operation of the facility.
Oversees the general security of the facility during regular shifts.
Maintains an inventory of equipment and supplies, orders supplies as needed.
Assist with coordination of events.
Supervises duties of other custodians at building level.
Maintains, reviews and approves payroll records and attendance/leave requests for building custodians.
Oversees the job performance and performs evaluations of custodians assigned to the building.
Performs other duties as requested.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING: High School Diploma/GED required.
EXPERIENCE: Less than one (1) year job related experience.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Effective communication skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to )fifty (50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to one hundred (100) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES: Directly supervise building Custodial staff.
