Job description

Holiday Market, an award-winning and gourmet family grocery store, is known for our exceptional cakes. We are looking for people who love cake (ours in particular) and want to help make clients wedding dessert dreams come true. We are looking for someone who can help customers and clients do just that. The ideal candidate will have bakery and sales experience and possess a great attention to detail.

Responsibilities - Includes but not limited to the following:

  • Organize and lead a team to design and process custom cake orders.
  • Train associates on standard cake ordering.
  • Understand and implement order timelines and policies.
  • Work closely with the head cake decorator and production teams to communicate accurate pricing and designs.
  • Guide clients through the custom cake ordering process. This includes cake design, flavor selections, serving sizes, presentation, proposals, and follow ups.
  • Manage daily correspondence with current and prospective clients via email, phone, and in person.
  • Collect deposits and final payments. Handle customer cake inquiries and complaints. Respond to inquiries within a 72-hour time period.
  • Document and update customer records based on interactions.

Wedding Consulting

  • Organize and maintain booked weddings.
  • Review orders prior to events to ensure accuracy and confirm details.
  • Communicate effectively with the production team to ensure events details are correct and that all needed supplies are ordered.
  • Confirm appointments and manage customer profiles.
  • May be responsible for assisting and handling new wedding inquiries.

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • At least 2 years of bakery experience desired - with a specialization in cakes.
  • OR 2 years of experience as an Event Coordinator
  • Must have good time management skills and the ability to multi-task with a calm demeanor.
  • Must be able to work holiday weeks, some evenings, and one weekend day.
