HDR is currently looking for an On-Site Engineer/ Representative for a large data center that will be constructed in the
in Lebanon, Indiana. The individual will be employed by HDR Engineering, the prime
design consultant and Engineer of Record. The position does not involve inspection or contractor management but serve
as a liaison between the owner, design team, and general contractor regarding construction issues as they relate to
design changes needed. The individual will facilitate information flow from the construction team to the design team and
upport the owner, contractor, project team, and others performing work on the project.
The individual will be working at the Lebanon, Indiana project site full time.
In the role of Onsite Engineering Representative I, we'll count on you to:
- The individual will be the single point of communication during the construction phase
- Design and construction document management and revision control
- Determine if the work is proceeding in substantial conformity with the design plan
- Provide design document review and coordination across multiple design discipline
- Must have experienced-based knowledge of specifications to know when it is appropriate or necessary to elevate issue
to the design team
- Facilitate daily communication with the owner, design team, and contractor
- Work in the field to perform observation and other construction phase services safely and independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of the building, fire, mechanical, plumbing and electrical codes as well as seismic and sway (anchorage
and bracing) requirement
- Flexible and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities of the owner
- EIT or PE License
- Data center experience
- Previous construction experience with a consulting firm
- Ability to interpret construction schedule
- Able to problem solve and provide possible solutions to the engineering team and align with any construction change
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or combination of education and relevant experience
  • Demonstrated construction experience on multidisciplinary projects
  • Must have a fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction
  • Must possess the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Must be computer literate, experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related construction packages
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
  • Sponsorship (visa) for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position
