Job description

Job Purpose
Commission and qualify new products for HDPE blow-molding and/or PET blow-molding equipment and processes. Resolve manufacturing processing issues related to introduction of new or improved HDPE blow-molded products and platforms or PET preform and blow molded products. Work closely with Product Development Engineers and Quality to communicate processing obstacles of new products during the design phase and assess viability of new products.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Take responsibility of process side of HDPE blow-molding design reviews and/or PET preform and blow molding design reviews.
  • Consult during project kickoffs and relay issues during post project reviews.
  • Review blow-mold prints for fit, process-ability, cycle time, and weight.
  • Assess HDPE blow-mold platforms and/or PET blow molders for process capability and condition.
  • Conduct blow-mold unit mold sampling.
  • Train and consult plant personnel on process monitoring, cycle time improvement, and process management.
  • Lead diagnostics of blow molding equipment and container processing
  • Support plant technical staff to achieve company objectives
  • Create technical documents outlining improvements, basic knowledge, and problem resolution where applicable.
  • Create lesson plans from single point to entire processes for distribution and classroom training.
  • Support, champion, and implement Operations Initiatives.
  • Support the change revolution by identifying and implementing innovations that create a differentiation to our competitors.
  • Support qualification process during start-up of HDPE and/or PET equipment, molds, and significant process change.
  • Work in concert with all departments with professionalism and respect maintaining a borderless engineering group.
  • Pursue and support programs that support the fundamental goal of being "The Best in Industry at Project Execution."

Experience and Educational Qualifications
  • Five years (HDPE or PET blow-molding) manufacturing/maintenance experience
  • HDPE or PET blow-molding project management
  • HDPE processing experience or PET blow and injection processing experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with Uniloy/Liberty and Wheel or similar platforms and/or Sidel, Husky, Nissei or similar machines
  • CAD knowledge preferred. Ability to read prints required.
  • Technical degree preferred.
