Title: Full Stack Software Engineer

React | Node.js / Python / Java | AI-Enabled Delivery

We are looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to design, build, and ship workflow applications end-to-end across the front end, back end, APIs, data layer, integrations, and deployment pipeline

This is also an AI-enabled engineering environment. Our team uses tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and other AI-assisted development platforms as part of day-to-day delivery. We are not looking for someone who treats AI as a novelty. We are looking for an engineer who can use AI responsibly to move faster while still maintaining strong standards for architecture, testing, security, maintainability, and production quality

What You'll Build

You will help build full-tack workflow applications for public sector clients, including systems for intake, review, approval, routing, case management, reporting, and process automation. In this role, you will

  • Design and build responsive, user-friendly front-end interfaces using React, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Develop back-end services, APIs, business logic, and integrations using Node.js, Python, and/or Java
  • Build secure, maintainable workflow applications that support real-world government operations
  • Design, model, and optimize data using PostgreSQL and related relational systems
  • Use MongoDB or document databases where they are the right fit for the problem
  • Design and implement REST APIs; work with GraphQL where appropriate
  • Integrate with third-party systems, data sources, authentication providers, and cloud services
  • Use AI-assisted development tools for prototyping, coding, refactoring, testing, documentation, and delivery acceleration
  • Evaluate agentic AI frameworks, LLM-based workflows, and automation patterns where they create real product value
  • Translate complex, messy business processes into reliable, usable software
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, stakeholders, and other engineers
  • Own quality through code review, automated testing, debugging, monitoring, and production support
  • Build with security, performance, accessibility, and maintainability in mind, especially for public sector users

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science this is a hard requirement, no exceptions
  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience in full-stack, product, or application development roles

Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Strong server-side development experience with Node.js, Python, and/or Java
  • Experience designing and building REST APIs
  • Familiarity with GraphQL is a plus
  • Strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
  • Familiarity with MongoDB or other document databases is helpful
  • Experience with Git, code review, CI/CD workflows, Docker, and cloud deployment
  • Experience deploying to or building on AWS is strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of authentication, authorization, and web security fundamentals
  • Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, JWT, OWASP Top 10 risks, XSS, CSRF, and SQL injection prevention
