The HCA New Grad Residency program is a structured transition-to-practice program designed for newly graduated registered nurses (RNs) entering the workforce at HCA Healthcare facilities. It provides comprehensive training, mentorship, and support to help new nurses bridge the gap between nursing school and professional practice. The program typically includes classroom instruction, hands-on clinical experience, and ongoing professional development to promote confidence and competence in new nurses.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in an HCA New Grad Residency?

To thrive in an HCA New Grad Residency, you need a nursing degree, active RN licensure, and a foundational understanding of patient care principles. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, basic life support (BLS) certification, and exposure to clinical protocols are typically required. Strong communication, adaptability, and a willingness to learn help new nurses integrate into the healthcare team and manage patient needs effectively. These skills and qualifications are essential for building clinical confidence, ensuring patient safety, and supporting a smooth transition from student to practicing nurse.

What kind of support and mentorship can new nurses expect during the HCA New Grad Residency program?

As a participant in the HCA New Grad Residency program, new nurses receive structured support through preceptorship, mentorship, and regular feedback sessions.
