Description
The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for the Grocery Department, including the merchandising and inventory control. Responsible for overseeing the Dairy/Deli, Liquor, Frozen Food, and GM/HBC, departments. Assist in the overall service department operation. Assumes all responsibilities of the Store Manager in their absence. Accountable for developing and implementing plans to promote and maximize product sales and grosses in responsible departments.
Position Requirements
Duties and responsibilities:
  • Support development and execution of merchandising plans for departments
  • Maintain schematics, floor plans, and category layouts to optimize space and sales
  • Lead and support department resets, including planning, execution, and follow-up
  • Ensure consistent in-store execution of displays, promotions, and merchandising standards
  • Partner with store teams to improve product placement, assortment, and overall department performance
  • Provide clear direction and support to stores on merchandising expectations
  • Ensure proper item placement and in-stock conditions
  • Assist in assortment optimization
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce out-of-stocks
  • Identify fixture and shelving needs and support re-merchandising efforts

  • Ability to push and pull carts or merchandise fixtures
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment, including backroom and sales floor conditions
