These skills and qualities ensure both the safety of horse and driver and maximize competitive performance on the track.

What is harness racing?

Harness racing is a type of horse racing where horses pull a two-wheeled cart called a sulky, driven by a jockey known as a driver. Unlike traditional Thoroughbred racing, harness racing typically features Standardbred horses and requires them to race at a specific gait, either trot or pace. The sport is popular in countries like the United States, Canada, Australia, and several European nations. Harness racing events are held at dedicated tracks and are often associated with betting and lively spectator experiences.
