Job Title: Hardware Clerk
Position Summary:
The Hardware Clerk is responsible for assisting customers with their hardware needs, maintaining inventory, organizing products, and ensuring the store is clean and well- stocked. This position requires a customer-focused attitude, product knowledge, and the ability to perform a variety of clerical and physical tasks to support the daily operations of the hardware store.
General Purpose:
The general purpose of the Hardware Clerk is to provide excellent customer service by helping customers ?nd the right hardware products, managing inventory, restocking shelves, and maintaining an organized, efficient department environment. The Hardware Clerk is also responsible for assisting with sales transactions and keeping the store's hardware section well-organized and accessible.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Greet customers and assist them in locating hardware products. Ofer product recommendations and answer any questions regarding product features, usage, or store policies.
  • Inventory Management: Stock shelves with hardware products, ensuring that products are correctly placed, rotated, and properly labeled. Monitor inventory levels and inform the supervisor when products are running low or out of stock.
  • Product Organization: Maintain an organized and clean store environment, ensuring that products are displayed in an easily accessible manner. Regularly tidy aisles and ensure that products are properly shelved.
  • Product Knowledge: Stay informed about hardware products, tools, and equipment to effectively assist customers. Learn about new products and sales promotions to share with customers.
  • Safety & Cleanliness: Ensure that the department is clean and free of hazards. Assist with maintaining safe and tidy aisles and display areas.
  • Assisting with Inventory: Help check in new hardware inventory, check deliveries for accuracy, and place items on the sales ?oor as needed.
  • Special Orders: Assist customers with special orders for items that are out of stock or not regularly carried in the store.
  • Other duties: Assist customers with shipping packages through UPS shipping software, help in other departments as required by store management, occasionally help on the front end as a cashier or bagger and in the back room receiving trucks as needed.
