Reliability Engineer - Vibration

DuPont is seeking a highly experienced Maintenance & Reliability Engineer to serve as the Company's global subject matter expert (SME) and program owner for vibration analysis and Machinery Condition Monitoring. This role will serve as the governance leader and program owner responsible for the strategy, standardization, technical excellence, and deployment of vibration and other condition monitoring applications across DuPont global asset base.

Core skills that will bring success to the role are technical leadership for vibration analysis (primary) and related predictive maintenance technologies including online monitoring, wireless condition monitoring, intelligent predictive maintenance, lubrication analysis, thermography, ultrasound, motor diagnostics, and machinery health analytics.

This Engineer will be responsible for the creation and deployment of asset strategies at plant sites, identifies gaps in a site's maintenance strategies and helps define the business value for improvements. Performs technical consulting in various offerings while interacting with plant/business stakeholders, suppliers and contractors to accomplish business improvements.

Primary Responsibilities

Global Program Leadership

  • Develop and maintain DuPont's global strategy, roadmap, and standards for vibration monitoring (primary) and other machinery condition monitoring
  • Lead the global vibration analysis network across all businesses and manufacturing sites
  • Develop and govern corporate standards, best practices, procedures, and implementation guidance
  • Establish program metrics and KPIs to measure effectiveness, compliance, and business value

Technology Leadership

  • Provide technical leadership and direction regarding route-based vibration monitoring, online vibration monitoring systems, wireless vibration monitoring systems, Intelligent Predictive Maintenance (IPM), machinery health monitoring platforms, rotating equipment diagnostics, dynamic balancing, laser alignment, reliability analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning applications.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and determine applicability for deployment across DuPont manufacturing sites

Standardization and Governance

  • Develop, maintain, and administer corporate standards for vibration monitoring hardware including portable analyzers, wireless sensors, accelerometers, online monitoring systems, and data acquisition technologies
  • Develop, maintain, and administer corporate standards for software platforms including vibration databases, machinery health software, analytics tools, AI-based diagnostic systems, and enterprise integration platforms
  • Develop, maintain, and administer corporate standards for service providers including contract vibration analysis providers, technology suppliers, training providers, and equipment vendors
  • Develop, maintain, and administer corporate data standards including asset hierarchy, equipment information requirements, alarm management, reporting requirements, asset criticality integration, and KPI definitions

Training and Capability Development

  • Build training and certification roadmaps for analysts
  • Conduct workshops and technical training
  • Coach site reliability engineers and vibration analysts
  • Develop technical resource networks and communities of practice
  • Mentor engineers, technicians, and condition monitoring specialists

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • Minimum 10 years industrial reliability or maintenance experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience in vibration analysis and machinery diagnostics
  • Vibration Analysis Certification (ISO Category II minimum)
  • Demonstrated expertise in rotating equipment reliability
  • Extensive experience with vibration monitoring technologies
  • Experience leading enterprise or multi-site improvement initiatives
  • Strong communication and influence skills

Preferred:

  • ISO Category III or IV Vibration Certification
  • Reliability Engineering certification (CRL, CMRP)
  • Experience with online monitoring systems
  • Experience with AI-enabled predictive maintenance technologies
  • Experience with Emerson AMS, Augury, or equivalent platforms
