Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Automotive Parts Counterperson to join our team. In this role, you will sell automotive parts to customers through various channels, including over the counter, through the shop, and on the phone. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, a solid understanding of automotive parts, and a proven ability to manage multiple sales channels effectively.
Retail Parts Counterperson Compensation and Benefits:
Automotive Parts Counterperson Competitive Pay: .75%- 1.5% of total parts and labor adjusted gross from the daily sales summary per CDK, depending on experience. Average monthly income of $3,000- $6,000
Generous Paid Time Off (PTO):We prioritize work-life balance, offering industry-leading PTO. New full-time employees accrue 4 hours per pay period, totaling approximately 96 hours in the first year, with increases over time.

Retail Parts Counterperson Responsibilities:
  • Assists all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
  • Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
  • Pulls and fills orders from stock.
  • Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
  • Locates out-of-stock parts from outside source and submits an emergency order, if necessary.
  • Notifies the service advisor and the customer when special ordered parts have been received.
  • Follows up on back-ordered parts.
  • Makes sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.
  • Keeps front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered.
  • Participates in all training programs that are made available.
  • Keeps current on new products and product updates.

Parts Counterperson Qualifications:
  • 2 years of prior parts department experience
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Physical ability to use computer hardware/software.
