Job Description
TRG Manufacturing Search Division has been engaged to find an Electronics Hardware Engineer - Electric Drives to support the development of advanced control electronics for traction, auxiliary power, and energy conversion systems used in heavy-duty transportation and industrial applications. This organization continues to invest in next-generation electric drive technologies, including inverters, rectifiers, power converters, and silicon carbide-based solutions that support critical products worldwide.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working with control hardware and collaborating with software, systems, and validation teams. Responsibilities include specifying and verifying hardware requirements, supporting signal acquisition and processing, troubleshooting hardware/software interactions, and participating in product validation activities.
Successful candidates will have experience with microcontrollers, control electronics, power electronics, embedded C programming, and components such as IGBTs, SCRs, and diodes. A minimum of two years of related experience is preferred. Experience in locomotive, automotive, or industrial controls is a plus. This role offers direct exposure to products manufactured onsite, significant innovation opportunities, and strong long-term career growth.
Background:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
  • Experience designing, specifying, testing, or supporting embedded hardware, control electronics, power electronics, or related electronic systems. A minimum of two years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers, signal acquisition and processing, analog and digital I/O, and control hardware used in inverters, converters, motor drives, or similar applications.
  • Working knowledge of embedded C programming and hardware/software integration, including the ability to support troubleshooting and debugging activities in controller-based systems.
  • Experience with power electronics and embedded control technologies, including microcontrollers, control boards, signal conditioning, analog/digital interfaces, and power semiconductor devices such as IGBTs, SCRs, diodes, or silicon carbide-based components. Familiarity with hardware validation, troubleshooting, and system integration is a plus.
