Job description

We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented IT Technical Support Technician to join our technology team. This role focuses on imaging and deploying computers, diagnosing hardware/software issues, installing and configuring applications, and supporting specialized construction software platforms such as Autodesk products (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, etc.), geospatial/survey solutions, as well as other industry tools. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, maintains high standards for accuracy, and ensures all equipment is properly tested before issuing to end users.

Salary: $75,000 - $100,000 DOE 

Key Responsibilities

  • Image, configure, and deploy: Image workstations and laptops for new hires and hardware refreshes, ensuring standardized builds, security baselines, and required software packages. 
  • Install, configure, update, and support software applications: Particular emphasis on construction and surveying tools (Autodesk suite, Leica software, related plugins, drivers, and licensing. 
  • Hardware Testing: Verify new computers software load matches request for non-standard software applications, security tools, drivers, and organization-specific configurations.
  • Asset Management: Maintain accurate records of IT assets throughout their lifecycle (receiving imaging deployment shipping/return).
  • Troubleshooting: Perform basic diagnostics and repairs on hardware issues 
  • Deployment Support: Provide remote and on-site support, document issues and resolutions, and escalate complex problems to senior technicians or vendors when necessary. 
  • Documentation: Create and update knowledge-base articles, standard operating procedures, and imaging documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience imaging and deploying Windows computers (SCCM/ConfigMgr, Intune,  or similar tools preferred)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, Windows OS, networking basics, and software installation/configuration.
  • Hands-on experience installing and supporting software applications, including understanding of installers, dependencies, drivers, and licensing.
  • Direct experience supporting construction or surveying applications such as Autodesk products and/or Leica software/hardware solutions,
  • Solid customer-service orientation and the ability to communicate technical concepts clary to non-technical users. 
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license (if local deliveries are required).

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Familiarity with construction industry workflows (survey, CAD, BIM, or field data collection).
  • CompTIA A+, Network +, or equivalent certifications.
  • Experience with remote support tools, ticketing systems, and basic PowerShell or scripting for deployment tasks.
  • Familiarity with shipping software (UPS, FedEx, DHL portals).
