Role Description The Landscape Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Sterling, VA. This role involves creating thoughtful and functional landscape and hardscape designs for residential and commercial properties, including site analysis, concept development, and detailed plans. Day-to-day tasks include meeting with clients to understand their needs, preparing design proposals and presentations, selecting plants and materials, and coordinating with installation teams to ensure design intent is achieved. The Landscape Designer will also update project documentation, assist with cost estimates, and collaborate with project managers and field crews to maintain quality and schedule.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Landscape Design and Landscape Architecture, with the ability to create functional and attractive outdoor spaces.
  • Experience planning and detailing Hardscape elements such as patios, walkways, walls, and outdoor living features.
  • Proficiency in Planting Plans and general Landscaping practices, including plant selection, layout, and seasonal considerations.
  • Ability to use design software.
  • Knowledge of local climate, soils, and plant materials relevant to the DC metropolitan area.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to present and explain design concepts clearly.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and ability to travel to job sites within the service area.
