Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Harbor Therapy Center, you will:

  • Conduct individual and family therapy sessions, focusing on the unique needs of each client.
  • Engage with couples in joint therapy while also accommodating individual sessions to address personal concerns.
  • Assess and treat a variety of issues affecting families, including but not limited to:
    • Alcohol abuse
    • Physical and psychological abuse
    • Grief and loss
    • Family conflicts, including sibling disagreements
    • Communication breakdowns among family members
    • Job-related stress and medical issues
    • Challenges faced by blended families due to remarriage
    • Adjustment issues related to separation and divorce
    • Mother/daughter relationship conflicts
  • Utilize evidence-based therapies and interventions tailored to the diverse needs of a broad client base.
  • Document client progress and treatment plans meticulously in our electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical standards.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your practice will primarily focus on families, couples, children, and adolescents. You will work with diverse populations facing a range of emotional and psychological challenges. Your empathetic approach will be key in establishing trust and rapport with clients of varying backgrounds, ensuring they feel heard and valued in the therapeutic process.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
  • Current licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Virginia.
  • Exceptional dedication to clinical excellence and patient care.
