Summary of Essential Duties

The Service Manager of Hangar Maintenance is responsible for overseeing all hangar-based maintenance operations, ensuring adequate staffing, resources, and regulatory compliance to support safe, efficient, and reliable aircraft maintenance activities. This role manages day-to-day personnel assignments, supervises aircraft inspections and repairs, and serves as the primary point of contact for hangar operations during assigned shifts.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate manpower, materials, and aircraft availability with Service Managers to support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Stay current with all FAA and Company-approved maintenance standards, methods, and procedures.
  • Assign maintenance crews based on workload, scope, and priority of required tasks.
  • Supervise aircraft maintenance activities, including inspections, overhauls, repairs, and modifications of aircraft structures, engines, and components.
  • Prioritize Company-operated aircraft maintenance to ensure maximum operational availability.
  • Ensure adequate stock of required parts, lubricants, and materials to complete scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Confirm availability of firefighting equipment at all Repair Stations.
  • Establish and enforce safety standards and compliance measures across hangar operations.
  • Serve as hangar point of contact during scheduled shift; coordinate outstation maintenance support and AOG (Aircraft on Ground) parts logistics.
  • Oversee hangar efficiency initiatives, driving productivity and cost-effective operations.
  • Manage personnel scheduling, supervision, and performance for assigned hangar shifts.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations governing fuel storage and handling.
  • Respond to and resolve maintenance-related questions, issues, or escalations in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent stooping, bending, and kneeling.
  • Ability to stand on feet for extended periods.
  • Lift and carry objects up to 70 pounds regularly, up to 100+ pounds occasionally (with assistance).
  • Ability to climb stairs, scaffolding, and/or ladders of varying heights without assistance.
  • Ability to work in cramped spaces and awkward positions as required.
  • Tolerance to noise, vibration, and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Ability to wear protective gear such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.

Work Environment

  • Airport ramp/warehouse environment subject to varying weather conditions.
  • Regular exposure to aircraft noise and vibrations when testing engines.
  • Fast-paced operational setting requires attention to safety, accuracy, and timeliness
  • Be at least 23 years of age.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required.
  • Minimum 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong working knowledge of FAA regulations, including 14 CFR Parts 65, 91, 121, and/or 135.
  • Be highly knowledgeable of aircraft manufacturer maintenance manual, inspection and maintenance tasks, applicable portions of the Company's manuals, and Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Be authorized to work in the United States and able to travel in and out of the United States.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Must understand, read, and write English.
  • Possess polished and professional interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and a customer-oriented mindset
  • Possess strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Must have well-developed people skills and ability to work with a variety of personalities.
  • Able to coordinate multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Able to handle interruptions and a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal delivered with tact and professionalism
  • Must pass a DOT required pre-employment drug screen and willing to submit to and pass FAA and Company mandated random drug and alcohol tests.
  • Able to pass a required 10-year work history review and submit to criminal background and fingerprint checks.
  • Able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules.
  • Operational knowledge of laptop and desktop computers, working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, or related presentation programs. Operational knowledge of Outlook is required. Competency with internet navigation is also required.
  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, state, and federal regulations.
  • Be highly knowledgeable of aircraft manufacturer maintenance manual, inspection and maintenance tasks, applicable portions of the Company's manuals, and Federal Aviation Regulations.
