Job description

TITLE: Packer C

We are committed to the safety of everyone that works within our facility. It is the responsibility of each and every employee to think, act, and work safely to create and maintain a hazard free workplace.

  • 12-hour shifts (7am–7pm or 7pm–7am)
  • Alternating weekend off
  • Starting pay $15.50 and up

POSITION OBJECTIVE: Efficiently and accurately pack products for shipment or storage, ensuring they meet quality standards and are properly labeled and documented. This role supports the overall production process by maintaining a steady flow of packed goods, minimizing waste, and adhering to safety and operational guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Legal eligibility to work in the US.
  • Previous work experience in a manufacturing setting preferred with knowledge of production processes and quality control.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with all levels of personnel
  • Proficiency in reading and writing English.
  • Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude for machines used in the production process.
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complies with, monitors, and enforces all written and verbal safety regulations and programs of the plant and department.
  • Understand and adhere to plant policies and procedures.
  • Retrieve completed products from the production line and package them into boxes where you will then record the weight.
  • Prepare packaging for the finished product by labeling with quality and date stamps.
  • Inspect final product using bag checks ensuring proper documentation and timely communication of any issues.
  • Demonstrate the capability to maintain pace with the production process and achieve daily production targets while also ensuring cleanliness in the designated area.

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:

  • The warehouse is not climate control. Must be able to work in an environment that is extremely hot, humid in the summer months, and cold in the winter months.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

  • Ability to quickly move your hand, your hands together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, lift, manipulate or assemble objects (many duties require hand over hand movement) (frequently).
  • Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands.
  • Ability to stand and change positions frequently over a twelve-hour period.
  • Ability to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects. (Lifting requirement up to and including 30 lbs)(frequently)
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and or legs.
  • Must be able to reach and lift above shoulders (frequently).
  • Ability to uses your abdominal and lower back muscles repeatedly or continuously to lift objects (frequently).
  • Ability to quickly respond with the hand, finger, or foot to a signal (sound, light, or picture) when it appears.
  • Reaching above head (occasionally), stooping (occasionally), twisting (occasionally), and bending at the waist (occasionally).
