By The Hand is a not-for-profit, religious organization. Individuals employed by By The Hand are working in ministerial roles and perform all or some of the following responsibilities: sharing the Gospel, teaching chapel, leading Bible studies, discipling students and modeling behavior that is consistent with Christ’s teaching. 

Rate of Pay: $50,000 - $55,000 per year

Overview of Position

The Assistant Site Director is responsible for helping manage the day-to-day operations and programming of a specific By The Hand Club site. This position requires a self-motivated and focused leader with a desire to serve youth in under-served neighborhoods. This position reports to the Site Director and assists the Site Director with supervising site staff.

Spiritual Requirements

  • Has a personal and saving relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by a lifestyle that demonstrates the Word of God, and is in regular fellowship with other members in a Bible-believing church.

  • Agrees with the By The Hand Club Doctrinal Statement and adheres to the Employee Biblical Standards of Living.

  • Shows by example, the importance of Scripture memorization, Bible study, prayer, witnessing, and Christian fellowship.

  • Leads a team devotional on a regular basis and participates in weekly team prayer.

  • Has completed an evangelism course and is trained and prepared to share the gospel with anyone who inquires.

  • Works with staff and members of the EOS Leadership Team to monitor and enforce policies and procedures to further By The Hand’s religious purpose and freedom.

Role Responsibilities 

  • Performs in a way that is consistent with the vision, mission, and culture of By The Hand and commits to excellence in every aspect of the overall operation. 

  • Models the cultural values of By The Hand Club For Kids in day-to-day behavior. 

  • Follows all policies as outlined in the operational guide, including maintaining brand standards and ensuring 100% adherence to the Child Protection Policy. 

  • Participates in employee growth plans, including quarterly conversations and annual review meetings. 

  • Develops, trains, and manages staff and conducts weekly check-in meetings. 

  • Accountable to the Site Director for reaching specific work goals and fulfilling responsibilities.

  • Partners with the Site Director and Human Resources to ensure staffing needs are met, and participates in the selection and onboarding of new employees.

  • Ensures eye and dental, meal program and enrollment packet goals are met, including updated files on each student.

  • Assists Site Director in reviewing, tracking and approving staff paid time off (PTO) and hours worked via Rippling.

  • Ensures report cards are collected and scanned to the database manager. 

  • Provides support for Team Leaders with maintaining attendance, retention, and home/school visit metrics.

  • In coordination with the Site Administrator and Enrollment Specialist, schedule eye and dental appointments for the site. 

  • Coordinates the schedule of Spring Benefit activities, as well as other special events and trips.

  • Communicates with the Director of Facilities building repairs, housekeeping and safety needs or concerns.

  • In coordination with the Site Administrator and Enrollment Specialist, ensure transportation for programming and field trips are organized and scheduled. 

  • Oversees technology and makes sure computer policies are followed along with the care of all devices. 

  • In coordination with the Site Administrator and Enrollment Specialist, ensure the site is compliant in serving food and snacks. \

  • Attends leadership training and professional development opportunities.

  • Performs all other duties as required and assigned.

Education and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field, i.e., education, ministry, social work, business, or counseling.
  • 3+ years of experience managing others.
  • Comfortable using Google Suite, Google Drive and communication apps.

  • 100% of students have a personal and saving relationship with Jesus Christ. 
  • 100% of students attend and are involved in a local church. 
  • 100% of students are able to share faith with others. 
  • 100% of students enrolled based on the site goal. 
  • 100% of students complete reading software programs. 
  • 80% or more of students attend. 
  • 80% or more of students retained. 
  • 75% of students passing their classes at school, preferably making ABCs. 
  • 80% or more home and school visits every three months.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopies and filing cabinets. This job is not a virtual job, but it requires in-person attendance as agreed upon by your immediate supervisor.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to speak and listen. This role may require you to move equipment from room to room and lift up to 50 pounds. Periodically has to travel to other organizational sites for meetings and trainings.
