Tech Analyst IV | Kansas City, Missouri, United States Job Summary: Tech Analyst IV - Rocket Administrator / Mainframe Modernization Engineer Location: Remote (CST Hours Preferred) Client: Hallmark | Duration: Through End of Year (Potential Extension) About the Role Join Hallmark's high-impact mainframe modernization program as a Rocket Administrator / Mainframe Modernization Engineer. Play a pivotal role in migrating business-critical applications from legacy mainframe systems to AWS cloud infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise with Rocket Software and Micro Focus technologies in a 100% remote, high-visibility project entering a crucial go-live phase. Responsibilities - Administer, configure, and maintain Rocket Software environments supporting mainframe modernization - Oversee application migrations from mainframe to AWS-based infrastructure - Manage system upgrades, patching, deployments, and ongoing environment maintenance - Troubleshoot complex production issues and deliver operational support during migration and after go-live - Collaborate with development teams for code promotion, release management, and testing activities - Provide hands-on support during cutover, go-live, and hypercare periods - Monitor system performance and proactively resolve environment-related issues - Create and update technical documentation and operational procedures - Partner with Hallmark and Rocket implementation teams throughout the migration lifecycle - Support occasional after-hours or weekend deployments for major releases (with advance notice) Required Skills and Experience - 3+ years Rocket Software administration (1-2 years considered for strong candidates) - Hands-on experience with Micro Focus Enterprise Server, Enterprise Developer, or similar modernization tools - In-depth knowledge of COBOL applications and mainframe environments - Experience supporting mainframe modernization or migration projects - Strong Linux/Unix administration and production support background - Ability to work independently in an operational support function - Availability to work core CST business hours Preferred Skills - Experience migrating mainframe applications to AWS - Familiarity with JCL, CICS, VSAM, z/OS environments - Application deployment and release management expertise - Background in enterprise-scale modernization programs and distributed/cloud systems - AWS hands-on experience - Prior work with Rocket Software - Experience in Financial Services, Retail, or large enterprise environments - Exposure to DevOps, automation, or CI/CD practices Benefits - 100% remote opportunity (CST hours required) - Be a key contributor to a major, high-visibility modernization initiative - Work with cutting-edge cloud and mainframe technologies - Collaborate with industry-leading modernization teams - No on-call rotation; limited, scheduled off-hours deployments - Opportunity for contract extension and career growth How to Apply Ready to advance your career in mainframe modernization?
