Many Hairdressing Teachers find the shift from a fast-paced salon environment to the classroom challenging, particularly when it comes to adapting their communication style for students with varying skill levels. Job description

Join a mission-driven team that cares about children, families, and each other. At St. Joseph's Center, your work helps children build confidence, learn new skills, and develop a love for learning. The Teacher in the Blessings Children's Learning Center is responsible for planning and running daily learning and child care activities. In this role, you help create a safe, caring, and fun space where children can learn and grow. You will teach lessons, support children's social and emotional development, and help them build skills they need for school. This job is more than daily tasks - it's a chance to make a real difference in a child's life and be part of a team that values kindness, teamwork, and learning.
Blessings Children's Learning Center is open Monday-Friday 6am-6pm, so there are different scheduling options available.
Why You'll Love Saint Joseph's Center:
At St. Joseph's Center, you'll be part of a team that truly makes a difference. Every day, you help children learn, grow, and feel safe. You'll work in a caring and supportive environment where your ideas matter, teamwork is valued, and every child's success is celebrated. St. Joseph's Center has a long history of building strong, meaningful relationships with the community, and we bring that same commitment to the children at Blessings. Families can feel confident knowing their children are in loving, capable hands. By supporting these children, you also help families continue serving others in the community with the care, concern, compassion, and commitment that are the values of St. Joe's. This is more than a job - it's a chance to make a lasting impact on a child's future.
What You'll Do:
• Keep children safe at all times, and directly supervise them throughout the day.
• Plan and lead daily learning activities that help children get ready for school.
• Use the center's approved curriculum to help children grow in areas like social skills, language, reading, thinking skills, and physical development.
• Create a daily schedule that gives children structure and routine.
• Join staff meetings to talk about program improvements, lesson plans, child behavior, and family involvement.
• Use simple technology tools to keep records, track children's progress, and complete reports as needed.
• Work with families and outside agencies if a child may need extra support.
• Help with basic care, including hygiene, meals, and snacks.
• Work as part of a team with other teachers and staff to support learning and a positive center culture.
What You'll Get
  • Health & Wellness - Comprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance, plus 24/7 no cost telehealth for you and your family.
  • Security and Peace of Mind - Company paid short term disability and life insurance, along with a Healthcare Flexible Spending Account
  • Balance That Matters - Paid time off and holidays so you can recharge and enjoy life outside of work. Paid Parental leave available after one year of employment.
  • Growth & Future Planning - A 401(K) with company contribution and match, tuition reimbursement, and paid training to keep you moving forward.
  • Extra Perks - Employee referral bonuses, national and local discounts, and access to our Employee Assistance program for counseling, legal, financial, and family support resources.
  • Competitive Wage- Starting at $16.33/hour, with opportunities for advancement and additional compensation based on experience and responsibilities.

Here, you'll find more than a job - you'll find a place that invests in your well-being, your growth and your future.
What's Required of You:
  • Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or another Human Services field.
  • Two years of working with children
  • Two written references (not family)
  • Excellent speaking and writing skills
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • A willingness to learn and take on new challenges
