Your growth path
Start as an apprentice and build to an independent field technician capable of safely repairing and testing control and isolation valves. Along the way you’ll work in our shop and at customer facilities, gaining hands-on skills with actuators, instrumentation, and quality checks.
Core responsibilities
- Assist with valve/actuator assembly and testing using manufacturer procedures, IOMs, work orders, and customer requirements.
- Prepare and clean parts (solvents, brushes, sandblasting) and help decontaminate equipment.
- Support teardown, repair, reassembly, and functional testing both in-shop and on-site.
- Perform in-line valve work at customer locations: packing changes, valve fittings, flange bolting, and torque applications.
- Verify accuracy and conformance of completed assemblies to standards and specs.
- Drive a stake bed to pick up and deliver valves and related equipment.
- Maintain and care for shop tools, test stands, overhead cranes, and forklifts.
Compensation and schedule
Hiring range: $23.00–$26.00 per hour. Actual pay reflects internal equity and may vary by region, skills, qualifications, experience, and role requirements.
Hours: Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., overtime as needed | Travel: Up to 40% out of town/state
What you bring
- Valid driver’s license with excellent driving record.
- Willingness to work weekends and overtime based on customer needs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; comfortable with email and digital work orders.
- Safe operation of impact wrenches, hand/power tools, test equipment, overhead cranes, and forklifts.
- Strong work ethic.
Preferred
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Ability to read schematics and interpret IOMs.
- Manual machining knowledge/experience.
Physical demands & environment
- Wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, FR clothing, safety-toed footwear, hearing/respiratory protection, etc.).
- Lift/move up to 50 lbs; stand/walk up to 8 hours; frequent climbing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping.
- Potential exposure to chemicals; work near moving mechanical/mobile equipment; outdoor work in varying temperatures.
