What You Will Do:
The Manager of Category Development, under the guidance of Director, Category Development Skincare is responsible for leading identified categories for the Commercial category team to leverage shopper insights and category analysis to establish strategies and enhance the shopping experience to accelerate the growth of dermatological skincare and haircare and our brands at Strategic Food and Club. The Manager will help develop and execute the dermatological skincare and Haircare category vision at Strategic Food and Club.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Help lead the strategic vision and development of identified categories at Strategic Food and Club.
  • Build and maintain true understanding of market trends and omni-channel category insights.
  • Partner with Sales team in developing strategic account objectives and executional plans.
  • Be the channel insights expert internally with key stakeholders in particular Marketing and Trade marketing.
  • Use all category and shopper tools, such as NielsenIQ, Market360, Amazon Tech/Profitero, Scintilla, Numerator, Spate, Suzy panel research, Ipsos panel research, social engagement tools, Retailer loyalty systems, bespoke shopper studies (CDJ's, Shopper Perception, UX studies, Merchandizing Studies and external market research (ex. Euromonitor, Kantar, Kline, Mintel).
  • Attend high-level customer engagement meetings in partnership with sales to present LDB as category expert and thought leader.
  • Lead development of holistic solutions that advance all pillars of traditional category management (assortment, category insights, on site merchandising, etc.) and work through the buying team to implement.
  • Exhibit a constant sense of curiosity, be highly motivated to gain insight/understanding of the business and proactively come up with opportunities/recommendations to move the business forward.
  • Consistently aspire to bring additional sophistication, improvement & efficiency to the analysis of the commercial business.
  • Utilize and adapt all central category thought leadership (Quarterly Market Assessments) and research to Strategic Food customers and the Club Channel.
  • Contribute to the evolution from Category Management to Category Development, focusing on long-term growth and innovation.

Job Scope:
  • Requires a national perspective of the consumer-packaged goods and beauty industry as well as experience in the mass retail environment.
  • Requires strategic thinking skills, creative and original in terms of new or improved methods, procedures or ideas regarding processes. Responsible for all assigned projects and objectives; works in collaboration with all internal departments and Field Sales.
  • Performance based on meeting the organization's objectives and schedules. Ability to handle multiple projects at one time and meet required deadlines.
  • Contact with Field sales and direct account interaction as well as marketing managers, sales operations managers and other related functions and departments within New York. This position will provide contact and interaction with senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team in multiple off-site locations; Can manage client relationships to maximize our business investments; Shows strong ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize team efforts; Must think strategically and work independently while collaborating with team and supervisor.

What We Are Looking For:
A results-oriented individual who can translate market and shopper insights into actionable strategies, contributing to profitable growth for the LDB Hair category. You will possess a solid understanding of category management principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in Marketing, Category Management, or Sales within the beauty or consumer goods industry.
  • Experience supporting the development and execution of retailer strategies and projects.
  • Proven ability to analyze data and contribute to sales and profit optimization plans.
  • Experience within the beauty industry, ideally with some exposure to multiple categories.
  • Knowledge of shopper insights and their application to category management.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present findings and contribute to action plans.
